Worried about our conference

The rest of the league is dreck. Iowa got shut out. A lot of the big games yesterday were marred by a lack of quarterback play. In this wide open era a lot of bad ball played
Why not us? Why not now?

We win the Big 4, we win the Conference.

As a B1G football watcher (PSU), their best QB would be #6 at best in the Pac this year. Allar, McCarthy, McCord and Tua's brother aren't bad but they are not the high end dudes playing in the wild wild west.
The big 3 have good teams but either their scheme or culture or something just limits them from actually scoring points. PSU had like 25 completions for 170 yards yesterday. Nothing went downfield. It didn't need to, cause Iowa could not move the ball to save their life, but PSU has the QB and WRs to push it downfield if they want to, along with a great LT and two RBs I'd kill for on the Huskies. Bad weather and stuff, but just so basic. Iowa had 76 yards and 4 first downs. PSU has a good defense but Iowa is ASS.
Wisconsin and MSU can be good programs but need a Deboner type hire to get there. Maryland is the 4th best team this year.
I wish we had the 12 team playoff this year given we might get screwed by brand perception against those 3 teams in the final count (thanks Utah-PSU Rose Bowel). Fully confident in the top of the Pac to roll them. -
I also think Oregon’s style of offensive play is going to cause some whirlwinds in the B1G. It could be amusing to watch.

When B1G teams realize you have to score over 20 points a game to beat our? squads, they're going to shit themselves. I don't know how teams like Iowa go year after year being so dicklimp on offense. -
Bear with me as a defence enthusiast but I do think there are some better Cal's out the there that will muddy things up
-
One year from now we can all talk about the B1G’s historical dominance in the now defunct Rose Bowel game. Still hoping Nebraska comes back someday. They always were my favorite classy Big 10 program.

I’m hearing WARSHINGTON has a pretty good offense as well. WOOF!PineapplePirate said:I also think Oregon’s style of offensive play is going to cause some whirlwinds in the B1G. It could be amusing to watch.

SEC is also shit show...tbh this offense might make a real natty run

Did we? Just downgrade our conference affiliation?

Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, and fucking cultureless, mountainless twash
No deserts either -
Even though we give Boov and Cuog a bunch of crap, those two teams would be in the upper third of the B1G conference rather easily right now.
Nebraska
Indiana
Illinois
Northwestern
Maryland
Rutgers
Purdue
Michigan St
Iowa
Wisconsin
Minnesota
So much dreck this year. Oregon and Washington held a full house and folded to a pair of fucking 6’s. -
This is our chance for a Natty. We probably won’t, but it’s the best chance we have ever had. 2016 was a fun squad, but they weren’t quite at a good enough level.
We would likely beat Ohio State and Michigan. We would beat Alabama. Florida State is a fraud. Texas is coached by Sark. Not sure I would trade our roster for any of theirs, and Georgia might have more talent but our team is more entertaining to watch.
Getting thru the PAC 12 with one loss at most is going to be tough. -
Time for Washington and Oregon to demand a full TV share

Yep, this is it. The first time UW has had an overwhelming unit that people can't stop since the 1991 defense. Never thought I would see it again.RoadDawg55 said:This is our chance for a Natty. There are probably teams that could put up 30-40 points on UW but UW could win that shootout.
This offense is just way better than any other around the country. The SEC and B1G qbs are average to bad.
I think at USC is the most likely loss.

I’ve said this before, B1G football bad but I’m just here for the money.greenblood said:Did we? Just downgrade our conference affiliation?

I don't feel much affinity with our? semi-pro Huskys playing on Alaska Airlines field any longer, in fact they are kind of boring. Even less with the B1G. It's all boring, and a long way from the real west coast college football we used to get.

I’m starting to think Oregon and Washington are playing each other twice this year, and if they split, then two Pac 12 teams are probably going to the playoffs.RoadDawg55 said:This is our chance for a Natty. The wildcard now is shockingly CUOG since they've already beaten OSU and skip USC & Utah, while the top 4 teams all have games against each other. They're Cuog, they will do what they do, but it's kind of wild they got that lucky schedule. -
It’s just like USC last year, skipping Oregon and Washington. I’m more worried about Cuog than USC at this point. Cuog def isn’t great but it’s competent. The USC def is non-existent. Utah has no offense without Rising, and honestly the longer he’s out, the more rusty he’s going to be when he does return.whlinder said:

Not to turd in the punchbowl, but this talk is all speculation and hyperbole akin to the guy in the trailer park amazed at his $500 Scratcher ticket payout and convinced his Powerball ticket is gonna net out around half a billion after taxes.
Yeah we didn’t lose to Montana out the gate, or go down to the wire with EWU. But its Cal. We beat Cal. Cal was too high. MSU got plungered, and who else have we played so far?
Still untested against a real team.
Jesus, I can’t believe how effectively I channeled Race Bannon on that. -

Absolutely boat raced two power five teams - one known for defense.
If you can't see that big Penix energy is a once in a lifetim QB then no one can help you.
Does that mean we are a shoe in for an undefeated season? Of course not. But every tough team that we have asked to schedule a mid week (or bye week) game as a tune up has turned us down.

As I have said many a tim on this bored - If we are slamming trailer trash - I AM OUTStLouisDawg said:Not to turd in the punchbowl, but this talk is all speculation and hyperbole akin to the guy in the trailer park amazed at his $500 Scratcher ticket payout and convinced his Powerball ticket is gonna net out around half a billion after taxes.

Iowa and Wisconsin will be the biggest losers. They've been trotting out FCS offenses for over a decade now, and piling up 9 win seasons this whole time as they largely duck the actual B10 powers. They're going to go full Nebraska and fade into obscurity starting next year.
