The Angel tears are so fucking sweet though. Yes, I know I'm a moog. Beat Anaheim, nothing else matters.
It's not over til it's over though. Julio only looks like a retard in about 1/3 of his ABs now rather than 2/3. Raleigh is having his late season power surge like last year. Suarez is a pretty clutch hitter just like he was late last year. France is bound to have a better stretch run since it would be hard to be as bad as he was all season.
This team gets weirdly good late in the season. I know that we know, but still, you just never know.

My first fantasy team was in 1990 (The Johnson City Gigolos). Rickey Henderson hit .325 with 28 dingers, 61 RBIs and 65 stolen bases, if memory serves me correct. Julio is within shouting distance of that type of 4 category production.chuck said:

It seems your disagreement is mostly over my choice of labels..."slap hitter" is not what I would label him. I'm just saying that's part of his game and he is at his best when he's using it to get on base and set the table, with the occasional display of power. -
Henderson is who I was thinking of. Julio should have a few more homers as he develops and hopefully will gain some of Henderson's patience and on base skills. I see him as more likely to compete for a batting title than HR title though.DerekJohnson said:

But that doesn't make the rest of them slaps. Anything over 95 is defined as "hard hit" (I didn't make the labels so don't take it up with me).
Thats's 12/17 "hard hit" balls and 5 slaps (if you count the 93s as slaps, which seems generous).
He wasn't out there slapping the ball around. -
Ok internet bully. We can argue semantics and opinions all day about what a hard hit ball is. Julio can crush it at 120mph. When he's taking jam shots and bouncing them past the second baseman or making the 3b go deep down the line and beating the throw, call it whatever you want.dnc said:

Again it's clear that you took umbrage with the use of the word slap. How about spray hitting? The point is he's not up there swinging from the heels most of the time, and I think he's at his best like that.

Not a big Ford fan, I think they have enough lefties off the bench. But Haggerty isn't especially essential with Moore, Rojas and Caballero around either. I'd prefer Haggerty but I don't really hate it. I do wish Ford was starting less. Also you can't option Ford but you can Haggerty, wouldn't be surprised if that was the difference in the decision.

Not a big Ford fan, I think they have enough lefties off the bench. But Haggerty isn't especially essential with Moore, Rojas and Caballero around either. I'd prefer Haggerty but I don't really hate it. I do wish Ford was starting less.
