lol what would they buy it with? WSU's Sven bucks?coach_pete_JPG said:Power move would be for the Pac-12 to buy Disney’s tv assets and let all the other conferences know who’s captain now.

the situation might be fluid update:
- warner bros discovery sports (tnt/tbs) might be at the table
- fox/espn might be back at the table
- cbs still sitting at the table
- $30mm per team
- pac 10 stays 10 (no idea what san diego state was trying to do a few weeks ago but ts an ps sent)
- keeps pac 10 together for 5-6 more years, it dies after that
- do think its close, announcement at p12 media days will be that, 'in august we'll announce...'

The only thing keeping UW and Oregon (and Utah) in this is the fantasy of owning this conference.
Even though they were already owning this conference.
Fuck the presidents. Forever. -
espn CLEARLY reads this board
It is likely to include a mix of streaming and linear options
i first reported this months ago
expected to be on-par with the ACC and Big 12
i said $30mm, big12 is $32mm iirc
The biggest flight risk, according to sources, has been Colorado, and it remains to be seen if the administration there has the patience to wait for the new deal before making a major decision that could have a tidal wave of effects.
at this point i have to think that heather dodged the espn layoffs because her salary is comparable to rod gilmore's, she has pics of someone, or abundance
espn is CLEARLY dying when my shitty posts* are the 'source'
*i no longer use 'poast' out of the passing of pup, he hated the term. -
Come on boofs, get bouncin.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned but Disney is completely gutting its traditional advertising. Disney+ isn’t profitable and ESPN could be put up for sale. Disney also likely to sell their TV stations.
Is this relevant at all? No fucking clue. -
The app market might be flooded. Probably a shake out coming
The NFL chose Prime because Prime isn't going away -
How will we replace their 48-94 record since joining the conference? SDSU would be too goodchuck said:Come on boofs, get bouncin.

RE attendance. Penn State student tickets sell out in 20 mins. Hot tickets do exist.
It might be the only thing to do there, but still. -
I won't speak to Penn St, but the Michigan State fans were floored at the UW campus. I am not exaggerating that. They did not know campuses like this exist.whlinder said:RE attendance. Penn State student tickets sell out in 20 mins. Hot tickets do exist.

Flying to Seattle was a literal vacation for them. -

You'd be shocked at how much farmland there is in Michigan -
I think the bolded point above is fairly critical here ...rodmansrage said:the situation might be fluid update:

To me it's pretty clear that there's going to be a breakup of the ACC and PAC into the remaining 3 conferences ...
While the SEC doesn't care about what happens with the PAC per se since they aren't adding, they do care from the standpoint of as further consolidation occurs it's bad for the business to basically have a giant void of interest on the West Coast (outside of LA). The Big10 should have obvious interest in making sure that at least Washington and likely Oregon (Cal/Stanford TBD - this may give them a chance to shit or get off the pot) aren't taken out by the knees during this interim period such that they retain value going into the next big consolidation window. The Big12 also should care in that the health of the residuals and their desire to dominate in basketball is where it needs to be.
It wouldn't surprise me at all if there's already plenty of wink winks going on where people know what is going to happen on the next/final round of realignment but the timing/money isn't right in THIS economy ... -
What in the fucking tequilla does farmland have to do with beautiful campuses?Tequilla said:

a 9 school conference, all schools playing each other? The conference champion makes the playoff and if it is a top 4 ranking of the P5 conference champs gets a bye to the round of 8 in the playoffs?
Why is this bad? -
1 leaving just means SDSU is swapped in.whlinder said:a 9 school conference, all schools playing each other? The conference champion makes the playoff and if it is a top 4 ranking of the P5 conference champs gets a bye to the round of 8 in the playoffs?

But also, fuck this carcass of a league in it's dried out eye socket. Anything that hurts or makes the Pac look bad or causes turmoil is alright by me. -
Meh. I mean I get it, but I’d rather stay at 8 conference games.haie said:

Who woulda thought Arizona would be the load bearing pin that if pulled topples the once proud Pac 10? I mean USC was like having the cables of the bridge cut first but you still gotta pull that pin. Arizona, LOL. Do it Wildcats! End this joke!
-
The other P5 conferences will band together to not play the PAC to try and force it to dissolve. At least will force them to play neutral field or not do a home and home similar to what P5 already does to G5 teamswhlinder said:

Sometimes thinking you're worth way more than you are actually works out.
Just ask the Duck fans here up until ~2010. -
I don't know about tv market share, but if we're using the actual athletics as the barometer SDSU is a huge upgrade over CU.haie said:
