    Video killed the movie star

    You're showing your age again.

I know "talkies" ruined your movie experiences, too.

Godfather is great. Everyone says so.

    It’s slow and boring.

The same crowd who says “woody Allan is a genius”
Woody Allen movies are gay. Godfather 1 and 2 are the GOAT.

    This isn’t hard.
It is hard ... for children. Not for men.

Well, the good news about this retarded take is that it puts your retarded take on Sean Taylor in context. @whlinder You basically have shitty taste, which leads to shitty takes. I've never hated anybody I like as much as I hate and like you Roadie.

Slow and boring. FFS. GF is not just a mobster movie. It's about the perspective of the immigrant in a new country and how that shapes their experience, their decision making and their whole outlook. It's about moving one culture into the middle of another one. It's about an immigrant family trying to make it to the "legitimate" seats of power however they can. It's about the hypocrisy involved in dismissing them as simple thugs. It's basically the whole back story of Cosa Nostra and arguably the story of our country you shit taking son of a bitch!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Fellas and Casino are awesome movies, but they're more about the blood and violence of the story, which appeals to young and simple men. The more refined intellectual will appreciate the GF. To put it in terms you can understand: GF and GF II are novels; Good Fellas and Casino are video games.
I nominate "You shit taking son of a bitch" for permanent residence in the rotation.

I said what I said. Nobody under 40 has chimed in that Godfather is great. They are both overrated movies. Believe me, I wanted to like them, and I don’t completely hate them. They are well made, but so fucking long and boring.I question whether you guys all really love the movie or if you feel you have to becuase it was drilled in your head that they are the greatest movies of all time.

    Break free fellas.

What is a ‘great’ movie for those under 40?

For mobster movies I think the Departed is pretty timeless. Has all the qualities of something you can watch over and over.

It's very, very good. No quite on my Mt Rushmore of mob movies but close.
