Jake Haener

You're asking us? You're the only one around here who knows shit.

I'm hearing he's coming back but I don't want to believe it.GreenRiverGatorz said:You're asking us? You're the only one around here who knows shit.

No idea but with how much he improved why wouldn’t you want him? He won’t have to re learn the offense and Huard could use a year to learn the system then start as a RS Soph.
-
hes better than any qb on our roster so what’s the problem?
-
It would be pretty funny if he transfered back just to lose the job to Sam
-
Later guys
-
Jake’s silence speaks volumes.
-
No kidding. Haener will be one of the best returning QBs in the country. And unlike most portal jumpers he'd be staying in the same system he previously succeeded in. I don't see how this is a bad thing.CuntWaffle said:No idea but with how much he improved why wouldn’t you want him? It's not like we are contending next year, so why not start building with Sam? And worst case, what if Sam leaves?
-
Cuz Haener can lead us to the MWC title gamesonics1993 said:It's not like we are contending next year, so why not start building with Sam? And worst case, what if Sam leaves?

Why are we not contending? The conference sucks and college football is now an overnight sport. Not even WSU has to fucking rebuild.sonics1993 said:It's not like we are contending next year, so why not start building with Sam? And worst case, what if Sam leaves?

Sam sucks. Sorry, but if he was any good at all he would have beat out Morris. If he leaves we get a QB that is actually good.sonics1993 said:It's not like we are contending next year, so why not start building with Sam? And worst case, what if Sam leaves?

Haener would have 1 year, he wouldn’t be coming over with 3 years of eligibility left. I doubt Huard leaves because of that and if he does well fuck him then.sonics1993 said:It's not like we are contending next year, so why not start building with Sam? And worst case, what if Sam leaves?
Not contending? So we should just throw the season away and try to get a better draft pick? I’m confused.
-
Why not? The defense shouldn't be any worse than what we saw and the offense should take a huge step forward, especially with a competent QB. Give Sam a year to get actual coaching and be ready to kill it as a junior.sonics1993 said:It's not like we are contending next year, so why not start building with Sam? I'm all for taking Haener. -
Haener left rather than compete. Fuck himRoadDawg55 said:

If Jake Haener can't win the Mountain West, how in the world do you expect him to win the Pac-12? The whole point of hiring him was that he can develop talent. Well then develop, Sam, that's why you were brought here.CuntWaffle said:

Utah's going to win the conference this year. It fucking sucks. We have enough talent.sonics1993 said:It's not like we are contending next year, so why not start building with Sam? And worst case, what if Sam leaves?

Why not both? Your take is getting stranger and stranger.sonics1993 said:

I am not writing off Sam yet. All his strengths are about knowing the scheme, getting rid of the ball at the right time and touch on the deeper routes. If haener can be reformed so can Sam.RoadDawg55 said:

Haener next year would be fine by me. He probably will last 5 games before breaking in half but whatever. This conference sucks. Do your best every year to win it. Placating to Sam would be stupid at this point. Although it would be hilarious if jake transferred back and Sam won the job and had an awesome year.

I welcome back his mother with open arms and a deboner
-
Because I know Sam wants to play now and I don't expect him to stay if he doesn't get the job next year. If I knew Sam would 100% stay, then I'm fine with it, but that doesn't go along with what I have heard from his camp.GreenRiverGatorz said:

Still lost here. He’s better than Huard currently. Huard couldn’t beat out Morris this year and when given a chance threw 4 picks. I still have hope he will be good but he could use some time to learn a brand new offense, something Haener already does. Again he’s not coming here with 3 years of eligibility left.sonics1993 said:

Don't we have a QB depth issue, too? Morris, Huard, and walk-on Sirmon?
-
Then that’s a bummer. Sam should start regardless of any transfer QBsonics1993 said:

That's how college football especially QB's work. If they aren't playing right away, they leave. Part of the job is understanding egos.CuntWaffle said:

If Sam thinks he's ready to ball out at some other team he's dreaming. Dude threw multipe terrible picks, is talented but currently clueless.
One year spelling Haener shouldn't be a deal-breaker for him. Probably Damon would agree.
Plus Haener knows the offense so the install would be super quick, and he can teach Sam. -
I'm the biggest Sam fan here but you gotta play the guy who gives you the best chance to win next year. We don't have time to rebuild, we don't need to rebuild.
Go win some games. Now. -
UW was only a functioning scheme and QB away from 1 or 2 losses last year. It's not a rebuild.
-
The team went 4-8, will have back-to-back mediocre recruiting classes, and a decent amount of talent leave the program; it's a rebuild.Kingdome_Urinals said:UW was only a functioning scheme and QB away from 1 or 2 losses last year. It's not a rebuild.

Then fuck him. If he thinks he earned the starting QB role by coming in and throwing 4 interceptions in his first start against WSU and wants to bail because he doesn’t want to compete then let him go.sonics1993 said:

This is the part of recruiting that drives me bat shit crazy. You can see the results but let’s ignore them because stars.
