Jacob Schuster, 2021 3* DT, Olympia (Tumwater), WA (Offered)

Well Ballz will be happy
I like him, I think he's a little undersized though -
Small in height. big on the first name
-
This must be the momentum building
-
I like this. Was arguably the best defensive player in 2A last year, and arguably the best on #GrundlesTBirds. Love his energy! #doogin
-
Greyshirt offer per Shuster himself. So he's actually being offered for the 22 class even though he is in the 21 class. This one will be interesting.
-
Interesting. I wonder if this is something Clay Millen would consider. His offer list isn't that great right now.bananasnblondes said:Greyshirt offer per Shuster himself. So he's actually being offered for the 22 class even though he is in the 21 class. This one will be interesting.

This...think this is a great idea with local kids that are good but borderline early offers. If he blows up or we whiff on JTT or some other top DT then you can always push him up to this year's class.insinceredawg said:

You're either from Olympia or Tumwater
Pass -
4.0 GPA and I saw him show real concern for a running back that he put a great hit on. Pass.Neighbor2972 said:
That's just one of many dumb things i thought of while watching his video. Another one was that people forget Stan Empterman was a 2a recruit.
In all honesty he looks like a bad ass. He's strong and quick and violent. I bet those 2a opponents hate playing against him. I'd sign him up. -
He also meets the criteria of having taken at least one snap at running back, so we have to take him.
His tape is really good, and high school stats whatever, but 26 tfl and 9.5 sacks is kind of what you want
He's better than the kid who just committed to A&M -
I'm no Craig Riggins, but this dude looks like a 4* easy. Everything you said is true. I don't understand rankings.chuck said:

He’s got a Cal offer and we’re offering greyshirt?
I hope that works out for us. -
"Right now, it's as a greyshirt," Schuster said. "At this point, it's for me to come in with the 2022 class, but coach Lake and coach Malloe said they feel pretty confident that I'll have one for 2021, but right now, it's as a greyshirt."Quietcowskee said:He’s got a Cal offer and we’re offering greyshirt?

Kind of a good way to hedge our options. We can show our interest early without completely committing -
This. He’s really good, but if JT and another better DT want to come, you gotta have the option to hold off. I really don’t want to see him at Cal or somewhere else in the PAC 12.Neighbor2972 said:

Some of his finishes were amazing for a DT. He can drag guys down with his strength, which is what a DL needs to be able to do, but he also has the feet to get in position and form tackle with awesome force which is something you dont see a lot of in the interior. Tank Johnson used to make a lot of hard hits which is one of the reasons I loved him.CallMeBigErn said:

Michigan also offered Latu recently so LIPO on the commitability of their offers, but still
-
Michigan is some weird blend of wanna be tOSU and quacks. They wanna hit it hard out here now? Did they get tired of being 4th choice for kids in their own region?

Holy shit. Great hands and reach, quick feet, violent hips. Love this dude.
Dare I say he projects as a quicker Gaines?
And yeah, if he’s not 2A, he’s a 4-star. -
It does show how fickle the rankings can be after the top guys. Nobody would bat an eye if he was a 4 star guy.Beno4Life said:

There is so much bullshit that goes into the rankings. Where you play, offers, camps, how good of a relationship you have with national ranking guys like Biggins/Huffman, etc. A player for a high school power gets seen multiple times. If you play for Tumwater, they see a player once. -
Yep. As I said in the Simon thread, they start ranking these guys as freshmen in high school based on potential and, once you do that, you've established a precedent. Then the non-commitable offers start going out, the "hey, we see you're highly ranked. We'll be looking at you" offers. One thing I have to wonder, because I'm sure it goes on, is how much money is exchanged in the process. Not like someone offering Biggins money go make a kid a 4 star but more like, "hey, pay money to come to our camp. The 247 guys will be there. If you pay for the vip camp, you'll get more reps and get guaranteed time with a scout watching you."RoadDawg55 said:

Makes you wonder
Edit: for example, over the last 10 years there have been a ton of rappers who have had kids who played football and were all 4-star recruits despite the fact that not a single one was any good. It cant be s coincidence that every single one of those guys was a big miss by the recruiting analysts. Also, the #1 of bust recruits (especially qbs) who come from extremely wealthy families. -
I remember Biggins talking about how fun Warren G’s pregame bbq’s were.bananasnblondes said:

Ah yes, Lil Romeo. Although I dont think he was highly rated. His scholarship was like a money laundering/bribery operation to get Demar DeRozen as I rememberdnc said:

Make it a committable 2021 offer and take the kid. We took 0 DL last year and it's a < 50% chance we land JTT at this point. Can never have enough athletic 300 pounders. .
