So, you're saying, I think, benign intent in the beginning, but now the bold move of obliterating the economy and threatening to blow up our society to de-steam Trump. The one thing that doesn't jibe with the theory is the idea that it's an assumption that a blown-up economy is Trump's fault. I mean, this shut-down isn't just a detail. I would think it more likely he'd be evaluated on how he handled this, and not because the economy tanked. But I'm not a good November prognosticator.

I believed wet market and I believed lab. Why would I disbelieve either? On purpose? That takes me to bold move territory. Even the fucking Chinese should know better ... you don't know what you're doing when you do something like that.

    Yeah, I do.

It's strange that they're singing a different tune today about the same game being played.

And here we are now, with the Patriot Act in full effect AND locked down to "keep us safe". It's like Americans couldn't be any dumber.

    Come at me bro

Why is the patriot act still in effect anyway? Lot of people changed their mind on it. They still have opinions

When did the Patriot Act shut down the economy anyway and how did I miss that?

Do better. Admit you were wrong. I did

The governors insisted that they made the call on the shut down. Did you want to send in troops?

Trump let them own it and own it they do. Of course they will deny it in November but only a dumbass would believe them

    Just politics

If you were the target I would have named you.

I'll admit I'm wrong when I am. I was wrong about big dick Eason, and was the first to admit it.

I didn't recommend shutting down the economy, I haven't missed a day of work or a bill that needed to be paid, and if it was up to me, neither the Patriot Act nor this shitshow would have taken place. Don't let your guilty feelings cloud your memory about what happened in both cases.

The Patriot Act didn't shut down the economy, and I didn't claim it did. It did, however, change lots of things about how we carry out daily life, give the government greater powers, and there was no excuse for passing it other than being a bunch of scared pussies - just like we're doing now.

Don't try to pin this shit on me. I'm a past-50 type 1 diabetic and I'm not thrilled about being exposed to some virus like this, but I'm no candy-ass socialist fuck, so I go to work and pay the bills. I'm also not retarded so I did notice all the lovers of expanding the government's powers under the Patriot Act are now not so trusting of the government. It's the same government, you guys are just calling it the "Deep State" now.

That's about all I have to say about it. I think you're cool, Race, even if we square off on certain points. We aren't miles from each other on the spectrum, it just seems like that from time to time. I don't want you to get covid and die, but I don't want you going broke to make sure people are "safe", either. Life isn't "safe". If you aren't OK with that, you should kill yourself now.

South Sound pride. Oly Shelton and Aberdeen against the world

The patriot act was actually voted on and passed several times. What we saw this year was real one man rule State to State

I see a difference as well as the impact on the economy by these idiots

I was better prepared for this than 99% of the wage slave carpet layers. We kept working kind of but I didn't need to. Lot of people do

What you or I think or thought pales in importance to not letting this happen again.

    IMO
    I feel you.

Newsom already told us this was an opportunity for Progressives to reshape the economy in a more equitable manner.

No grand conspiracy. Just same old same old statist/socialist gonna socialist.

It's not political though! It's Science!

He's not alone. Inslee said he's going to rebuild the economy as we open up "with an equity lens."

My wife lost her 4 day a week job meaning we are spending way too much time together.

The argument over how long to run the sprinklers we had this morning was special

According to @ThomasFremont, your wife isn’t an adult if she lost her job. Tommy can still buy Jack and Cokes on daddy’s account at the country club with a side app of over cooked calamari though, so he’s an adult.

While this is truly the hive of scum and villainy, it also the hive of the dialed in. For better or worse. I do have a FB and Twitter account and it has enlightened me to the utter stupidity and easy manipulation of about 81% of our populace. The average person couldn’t tell you how many deaths or cases that they have in their state without looking it up. They only go by what they see in the horrors of New York and still believe that it could happen here in a state with 110 deaths from 1st case In February. They watch MSM death counts on TV and buy into their narrative that it’s Trumps fault with hardly any acknowledgement of China’s role.

Both Inslee and Newsom have Presidential aspirations for the future. And to get there, you have to pay tribute to the powers that be. And today that is the Tech Billionaires whom wish to see Globalization and carbon neutrality. And they wish to see it now. To my point. I don’t remember Health care overhaul as being a major point of Obama’s ‘08 campaign. Just more a talking point of many. But the very first thing He did was get Obamacare in motion, even before He was sworn in. That was the tribute.

Trump never paid anyone any tribute. Sure He’s taken care of his buddies like all Presidents do. But He won despite the power behind the power. Not because of it.

Most of the common folks have no clue about basic Economics and don’t care as long as their check is coming. The common trope you will get from a stranger on a news story comment section is “Please list all of the loved ones that you are willing to sacrifice”if you dare to list the real facts about covid and why it’s time to open up and the now almost irreversible economic damage it has done.

The Mesmerization of the simple minded will be the fall of the greatest country in the world.

System of a Down was right.
Unrelated, I’m willing to lose most of my older “loved ones” if it means my kids aren’t set back 10 years as their parents try and recover. My olds are mostly liberals, anyhow. Fuck them and just die already.
