An attempt to cut through the shit

Remember when terrorists killed 3000 Americans and certain people were cheerleaders for government's powers being expanded and our ways of life being changed because if we didn't, tens of thousands more were going to die?
Yeah, I do.
It's strange that they're singing a different tune today about the same game being played.
And here we are now, with the Patriot Act in full effect AND locked down to "keep us safe". It's like Americans couldn't be any dumber.

So, you're saying, I think, benign intent in the beginning, but now the bold move of obliterating the economy and threatening to blow up our society to de-steam Trump. The one thing that doesn't jibe with the theory is the idea that it's an assumption that a blown-up economy is Trump's fault. I mean, this shut-down isn't just a detail. I would think it more likely he'd be evaluated on how he handled this, and not because the economy tanked. But I'm not a good November prognosticator.
I believed wet market and I believed lab. Why would I disbelieve either? On purpose? That takes me to bold move territory. Even the fucking Chinese should know better ... you don't know what you're doing when you do something like that. -

Why is the patriot act still in effect anyway? Lot of people changed their mind on it. They still have opinions
When did the Patriot Act shut down the economy anyway and how did I miss that?
Do better. Admit you were wrong. I did -
The governors insisted that they made the call on the shut down. Did you want to send in troops?creepycoug said:@salemcoog

Trump let them own it and own it they do. Of course they will deny it in November but only a dumbass would believe them

I'll admit I'm wrong when I am. I was wrong about big dick Eason, and was the first to admit it.
I didn't recommend shutting down the economy, I haven't missed a day of work or a bill that needed to be paid, and if it was up to me, neither the Patriot Act nor this shitshow would have taken place. Don't let your guilty feelings cloud your memory about what happened in both cases.
The Patriot Act didn't shut down the economy, and I didn't claim it did. It did, however, change lots of things about how we carry out daily life, give the government greater powers, and there was no excuse for passing it other than being a bunch of scared pussies - just like we're doing now.
Don't try to pin this shit on me. I'm a past-50 type 1 diabetic and I'm not thrilled about being exposed to some virus like this, but I'm no candy-ass socialist fuck, so I go to work and pay the bills. I'm also not retarded so I did notice all the lovers of expanding the government's powers under the Patriot Act are now not so trusting of the government. It's the same government, you guys are just calling it the "Deep State" now.
That's about all I have to say about it. I think you're cool, Race, even if we square off on certain points. We aren't miles from each other on the spectrum, it just seems like that from time to time. I don't want you to get covid and die, but I don't want you going broke to make sure people are "safe", either. Life isn't "safe". If you aren't OK with that, you should kill yourself now. -

many of us are all saying we have never seen anything like this, when a large percentage of the people feel that way, there very well could be an underlying "conspiracy".
The US is obviously moving toward a more liberal nation. What that involves is I am not sure. My kids mostly want our government to move to European-like liberalism with more government control. It is what is being taught in our school systems, pushed by the Democrat party, and in reality, by the Republican Party but at a slightly slower pace. It's Globalism that they want.
This pandemic (meets the definition but to me not on the Bubonic Plague scale) is being used to push that type of agenda on the US. I am an old fart so it won't affect me much, but to see the population cowering in their homes because our government demands it, is very scary.
First time I have ever seen anything like it.
Lastly, in a couple of years see who profited on this and that is our "Conspiracy"

The patriot act was actually voted on and passed several times. What we saw this year was real one man rule State to State
I see a difference as well as the impact on the economy by these idiots
I was better prepared for this than 99% of the wage slave carpet layers. We kept working kind of but I didn't need to. Lot of people do
What you or I think or thought pales in importance to not letting this happen again.
IMO -
Imagine if bin Laden had the kill count COVID has already.
