So we aren’t giving up on recruiting for months in the offseason or does that come later now?
Historically the recruiting really slowed down between Feb-May where the coaches were more focused on spring practices. We’ve lost the attention of a lot of kids during that time frame as they check our other schools/are recruited more aggressively elsewhere (Charbonnet, Ngata, Botelho, etc)
Having an actual spring game and making that a big deal for fans/recruits appears to be the end of that failed process, but we’ll see.

I doubt it makes much of a difference at all, but the little things add up. Not having a Spring Game was stupid. Nobody said Pete had to play the best players for the majority of it. Players get injured in practice all the time. There is no more injury risk with a Spring Game.

I think it’s just an example of always selling your program and Jimmy at least appears to be taking that more seriously than Pete did.

That has been a really bad time period for recruiting under Petersen. It's been like clockwork.
