It's not thrilling to hear, but part of me thinks he's just trying to keep the recruiting class together for the time being and once they get past signing day he can figure it out. Not sure that's the order I'd choose.

I'm starting to warm up to this hire,
mostly because I like saying "Jimmy" and, as a die-hard Hurricane, I like shit talkers.

dude has had this job for 24hrs, i get that he doesn't want to announce firings at his intro press conference.
everything he said about taking aggressiveness and a passion for strategy to the other phases = offensive staff changes are coming. -
I have no doubt he'll be in touch with candidates via back channels over the next month. Anyone he's trying to hire will likely finish out their season in their current roles as well. No point in going into the bowl game short staffed.ExtraChrisB said:...is a bad first sign.

Bad move... now is the time more than ever to show that you were the correct choice. The only problem is that Pete is technically still at the helm until the Bowl game.

Pete's still the boss, there's just no way Lake can come in now and start making changes without looking completely disrespectful to Pete.
He has to wait.
I'm not excited about this move but anyone who thought firings were coming today or this week was setting themselves up for disappointment. -
Jimmy literally can't fire anyone till after the bowl game since he's not the head coach until then. You really think Pete wants his last move as head coach to be firing guys he's known for twenty years? Calm down.
Plus, we need to current staff to stay in tact until after signing day to keep the current class in tact through signing day.
Reading between the lines, Jimmy's comments about being "aggressive" on offense and punting on the the coaching staff question indicates pretty heavily that he's going to be firing some coaches.
