Campbell's Cream of Tomato soup made with cow's milk and a side of Saltine crackers crushed up into the soup was a winter staple as a kid. Still my favorite although I always order the clam chowder when dining out
And now I make the tomato with Almond milk of course

I keep the crab shells from when I go crabbing and boil them to make a stock. Then I use that to make a chowder with either razor clams or littleneck clams. It's pretty fuckin good.

Lentils are the king of legumes. Packed with protein. And goddamned delicious.

Garbanzo beans (hummus) and peanuts (peanut butter) are vastly superior legumes.PurpleThrobber said:

Love it when my Coogs extol the virtues of Lentil Fest.

French OnionNothing beats a truly great French Onion
Clam Chowder is iconic ... Duke’s >>> Ivar’s rather easily
Split Pea is also a classic
A cheesy potato bacon is really high on the list
On my restaurant days I used to make a creamy chicken Dijon soup that was tremendous ...
If it’s in a can it probably sucks ...
And tomato soup pretty much sucks unless it is super high end

I forgot about split pea. Great with oyster crackersTequilla said:Nothing beats a truly great French Onion
