UW has a massive talent advantage and If Pete needs "more bullets" to beat fucking Cal than he isnt the guy.

We didn’t lose because of one thing. I said recruiting is part of the reason we lost, which is true.bananasnblondes said:

We lost because our players were weak-minded and our coaches did not have a winning gameplan -
And I said its not part of any reason on why UW lost to Cal you smoothed brained mongoloid.GOAT said:

On the list of actual reasons why UW lost TO FUCKING CAL, recruiting is ranked somewhere between @DerekJohnson and his dad being at the stadium and the fact they removed gendered pronouns from the UW fight song. -
How is it not part of the reason? If you don’t think it’s even part of the reason you’re more retarded than I thought. We don’t lose that game if we have Stephen Carr, Wyatt Davis, D.J. Johnson, Marlon Tuli, Tyler Vaughns, Michael Pittman etc.Houhusky said:

nice to know that when you tried to backtrack/clarify by saying "part of the reason" you meant if we had a few specific recruits UW would have won though. -
Our significantly higher rated guys couldn’t beat Cal’s significantly lower rated lower recruits but if we had these other significantly higher rated guys we can know we wouldn’t have lost.GOAT said:

You don’t see any holes in this? -

The narrative that this had anything at all to do with recruiting is so incredibly FS it’s nit even worth addressing.
It’s self parody at this point.
But we lost that game due to a. Significantly under executing the talent level (particularly at WR - those receivers have never played so poorly) b. Poor game planning/in game coaching on both sides of the ball. c. Getting completely fucked by the two and a half hour delay on a game that already started too late.
A is just as possible with higher end talent because of C. Massive deviations from normal conditions are great equalizers and play into the hands of the underdogs (see also WSU outscoring us while it was actually snowing last year).
Higher end recruits wouldn’t have saved that flat performance on the field or the sidelines, nor would they have held off the storm.
Recruiting failures may lose us a game later this year (if we lose to SC or Stanford it will almost certainly be a big factor). It wasn’t the issue Sunday morning. -

How come the 2.5 hour delay didn’t affect Cal?

You’re a huge doog if you’re talking about not recruiting TE’s or ILB’s as a reason we lost. Cal doesn’t have more than a couple players who even got offered by us.
Evaluate better and coach em up. -
Sirmon at FB is baffling. The guy lacks physicality at LB. What would make him a good FB other than he can probably catch?
-
If our starting receivers had been catching balls from only Eason since January 2nd then I think we win this game. I know CP has a soft spot for beta NorCal QBs (he was one) but his stupid choice to give Haener reps cost us Sunday morning
-
Again, whacky conditions are an equalizer that always favors the underdog.whlinder said:How come the 2.5 hour delay didn’t affect Cal?
It significantly lessened the HFA, for one thing.
Not saying it didn’t impact Cal, don’t twist. But I guarantee you Wilcox was praying that game would still be played and as late as possible. -
Yep abnormal events or weather favor the underdog
Didn't bother bringing it up because this board
Cal was better prepared for everything anyway

Quick question, how was Cal able to win the game with all the life sucked out of the stadium?greenblood said:
I'd give Pete somewhat of a pass on this. I know one loss in college football is much worse than any other sport, but that game was just strange in general. You had a 2 1/2 hour weather delay that basically sucked the life out of the stadium. The clock management at the end was laughable, he did the same crap against Ohio State in the Rose Bowl, and that notorious home game against Oregon (26-20 loss) as well. I know I'm throwing out the doog agenda (circumstances, young team, etc.) But given it being a late start with all the crap added to it, I'd suck it up and move on.Houhusky said:
