Evan Weaver is a winner maaaan. He calls hist shots and delivers as the broadcast had mentioned probably dozen times Sunday morning.
At the time, this bored would have gone absolutely nuts if we had lost Amandre to the Ducks or something and had to settle for Weaver. The Weaver hand-wringing, at this point, is all hindsight 20/20 shit just like a couple years ago when a few people were going crazy that we didnt offer Hercules or Cooper Cupp.
It should also be noted that we may have had both BBK and Jordan Miller had we not chosen to play them as freshmen for no reason

Coaching cost us the game. The offensive play calling was great at the red zone as always and fucking defense decided to spread their legs open like some prostitute
Part of the reason we lost is because of gaps in recruiting years ago. Hth
We did not lose to fucking Cal because of recruiting...
Its fucking Cal, not Ohio State or Alabama
UW has a massive talent advantage and If Pete needs "more bullets" to beat fucking Cal than he isnt the guy.
AGREE, but I think we're missing the point that @GOAT is making here. Yes, by TBS metrics we are way move talented than CAL overall. But due to 'crooting misses in the 2016 and 17 cycles, where either (a) thin or (b) very young in some key spots. It's difficult for even good teams and coaches not to drop 1 or 2 games a year to inferior teams (Urbs, Dabo and Saban have all done so in most years). Stockpiling talent year in year out should help reduce the risk of losing these types of games when the coaching staff calls a shitty game.

Eifler looks pretty good at Illinois, just saying
The Redshirting and roster management is about as shitty as Petes late game clock management.

This is because Pete doesn't deviate from his own process. So if a player hasn't had enough reps in practice, they don't play. It FS.

I said “part of the reason” you idiot.
And I said its not part of any reason on why UW lost to Cal you smoothed brained mongoloid.
(insert your inevitable retard butterfly effect type bullshit in response here)
On the list of actual reasons why UW lost TO FUCKING CAL, recruiting is ranked somewhere between @DerekJohnson and his dad being at the stadium and the fact they removed gendered pronouns from the UW fight song.

How is it not part of the reason? If you don’t think it’s even part of the reason you’re more retarded than I thought. We don’t lose that game if we have Stephen Carr, Wyatt Davis, D.J. Johnson, Marlon Tuli, Tyler Vaughns, Michael Pittman etc.

The 15,000 other fuckups > than some hypothetical savior recruits
nice to know that when you tried to backtrack/clarify by saying "part of the reason" you meant if we had a few specific recruits UW would have won though.

Our significantly higher rated guys couldn’t beat Cal’s significantly lower rated lower recruits but if we had these other significantly higher rated guys we can know we wouldn’t have lost.

The narrative that this had anything at all to do with recruiting is so incredibly FS it’s nit even worth addressing.
It’s self parody at this point.
Disagree to a point. There are some holes in the roster from recruiting failures, particularly at linebacker. I'm not starfucking, don't twist.
I’m fine with criticizing recruiting and pointing out some holes in the roster.
But we lost that game due to a. Significantly under executing the talent level (particularly at WR - those receivers have never played so poorly) b. Poor game planning/in game coaching on both sides of the ball. c. Getting completely fucked by the two and a half hour delay on a game that already started too late.
A is just as possible with higher end talent because of C. Massive deviations from normal conditions are great equalizers and play into the hands of the underdogs (see also WSU outscoring us while it was actually snowing last year).
Higher end recruits wouldn’t have saved that flat performance on the field or the sidelines, nor would they have held off the storm.
Recruiting failures may lose us a game later this year (if we lose to SC or Stanford it will almost certainly be a big factor). It wasn’t the issue Sunday morning.
