Census update

For @ApostleofGrief
Additionally, Barr slammed media reports that the White House would issue an executive order in an attempt to illegally force a citizenship question on the census. “In the hysterical mode of the day,” Barr said, media outlets speculated that Trump would simply add the question to the census unilaterally.
This has never been under consideration," Barr said.
For @CirrhosisDawg the answer to the question you wouldn't answer
The Census Bureau's own experts have said requiring information about citizenship would discourage illegal immigrants from participating and lead to a less accurate count. That, in turn, would redistribute money and political power away from many cities led by Democrats where immigrants tend to cluster.
Barr also agreed with Trump that the Supreme Court decision last month posed insurmountable "logistical" -- but not "legal" -- barriers to asking the citizenship question on the census. The government already has started the lengthy and expensive process of printing the census questionnaire without the question.
Trump had emphasized his exasperation at the situation earlier in the day at a White House conference focused on social media censorship of conservatives.
"We spend $20 billion on a census," Trump told attendees. "They go through houses, they go up, they ring doorbells, they talk to people. How many toilets do they have? How many desks do they have? How many beds? What's their roof made of? The only thing we can't ask is, are you a citizen of the United States. Isn't it the craziest thing?"
DOJ spokesperson Kerri Kupec told Fox News that Trump's "alternative path" ended the legal fight over the citizenship question.
“The Supreme Court held that Secretary Ross reasonably concluded that including the citizenship question on the 2020 decennial census would provide the most complete and accurate citizenship information, but it invalidated his decision to include that question on other grounds," Kupec said.

Race has done it again!!!1!!1 -
Trump is by the way referring with the toilet and desk questions disingenuously as usual to the long census questionnaire that only a random few fill out. The ordinary census form has no such questions. Trump is an idiotic conflater for misinformed idiots like Race.
-
Point still stands. They still ask questions that have nothing to do with a strict head count. You claimed that asking anything other than "how many", was against the law. You lied. But I'll accept that you just had your head up your ass if you want to cop to that.ApostleofGrief said:Trump is by the way referring with the toilet and desk questions disingenuously as usual to the long census questionnaire that only a random few fill out. The liberal idiots on here spent a day in outrage over fake news reports of Trump defying the SC. Do any of you idiots ever get tired of being played by your own media? What a bunch of goose stepping followers.

So Trump gets the democrats firmly on record as being opposed to the completely reasonable idea that we should know how many illegals are in the country. Most Americans agree that we should. Not only that he shows that the democrats actively used the courts to delay it long enough so it couldn't be on the form
As a side benefit he got the usual insane morons like @ApostleofGrief to make the usual wild claims of DICTATORSHIP which were proven to be false. Again
Then we will have the count separate from the census and the truth will come out making it clear why the democrats wanted to hide it in the first place
I agree that losers lose I just question if you realize who the loser is here -
A couple facts
Trump said even after the Supreme Court block that he was still planning on getting the citizenship question on the census and he probably decided to use an executive order. I would assume he was talked out of it or just suddenly changed his feeble mind at the last second like the missle strike.
I didn't say the question was against the law. I only the Constitution just demands a count only of everyone and there is no law that mandates asking questions.
The long census questionnaire is massive and sent to a tiny fraction of Americans. The questions are very intrusive. Many people do not comply with it. If you don't fill it out nothing happens although technically it is mandatory.

How loudly would you have cried if Repubs sued Obozo over every decision he makes? Asking for a friend. -
Why do you liberals lie so much?
I didn't say the question was against the law.
the Constitution says to COUNT not ask 4th Amendment violating questions.

What? Those are 4th Amendment violations as far as I knowSFGbob said:Why do you liberals lie so much?

Hi
the Constitution says to COUNT not ask 4th Amendment violating questions. -
Is a violation of the 4th Amendment a violation of the law? How is asking if someone is a citizen or not a violation of the 4th Amendment?
-
You don't know spit. Go apply for a gun permit. Go apply for a VA loan. Go apply for a federal scholarship.
-
Its not against the law. This is just aog trying to shoe horn his feelings into an issue. Taking feelings and trying to turn them into facts.SFGbob said:Is a violation of the 4th Amendment a violation of the law? How is asking if someone is a citizen or not a violation of the 4th Amendment?

Just go buy a gun. Not really, we don't want his type to have guns. Non-Americans should stay non-Americans.WestlinnDuck said:You don't know spit. Go apply for a gun permit. Go apply for a VA loan. Go apply for a federal scholarship.

And then you guys can come up with your answer as to why you didn't want anyone to know the answer -
This 4th amendment nonsense argument is part of the basis for that movement by idiots who believe that they have the right to not turn over their ID or respond at any time to police, the fed, the state gov, etc. They are the assholes who when pulled over for speeding lock their doors, roll up their windows and refuse to speak to the police.
-
We already know the answer is at least double what they claim. Might be 3-4 times that. They just call them undocumented democratic voters not illegal aliens.RaceBannon said:

Of course it's not a violation of the law. If it were than the long form Census would have been against the law. He talked out his ass, got called on it and then lied about it.Bendintheriver said:

Trump’s bullying and intimidation tactic failed miserably.
Add it to the list of the trump shitshow and failure:
Border wall
Trade wars
Immigration law reform
Health care reform
Etc... -
You guys mostly see the world with gross oversimplifications. There might be a law or regulation in effect that violates the 4th Amendment. The massive trolling of data that has been going on for years (collecting phone records and driver's license scanning eg) might be "legal" but appears to be a 4th Amendment violation anyway. You are supposed to be safe in your privacy unless "probably cause" exists that you have committed a crime. Next, a regulation that one of the agencies, the 4th branch of government issues, is not necessarily law or constitutional. Congress has ceded it's law making powers under Article 1 to a great extent to a mass of alphabet soup agencies who are effectively making law like regulations that aren't necessarily "law" but just regulations. The questions of very intrusive nature on the long census form that Trump used as examples came from a 4th branch of government and even the GOP wanted it stopped! Lot of words just to say you talked out your ass.
How is asking if someone is a citizen a violation of the 4th Amendment? Why not just admit you were talking out your ass? -

Leftards lie and love to be lied to. Same with pretend super libertarians. Citizenry needs to mean something. Otherwise it's Thunderdome. How do think this all ends when the money runs out? With a viscous 4th amendment argument?
