All that being said, Jake Browning still sucks and IFL rum and coke. They are great for the pours or swarthy hot heads like @creepycoug . Silver rum works best in Cuba Libre and is the original recipe. Dash of lime juice and one part rum and one part coke (Messican is best). As is the case for mixing booze with cola, better to stay cheap. I think Bicardi silver is fine.
So now I am hearing Bacardi Silver, vice Sailor Jerry.

There are better rums but this is standard. Better than bacardi(which will still work) but not so good you are wasting it in coke.
If you really feel the need to futz with the recipe then you need to think of things that go with coke. The list isn't long. Vanilla, orange, cherry, hookers, etc.
Put a splash of said flavor bitters, actual high end vanilla, or a good liqueur or brandy such as gran gala(orange) or Galliano (vanilla).
Thas' it bro. Plenty of ice. Dont fuck up the carbonation. -
