Pete flipped Buddha before he coached a game at UW and everyone (most) said he would suck at recruiting. DB got shut out.

I didnt have high hopes but the way DeBoer closed last year's class was far worse than my lowest expectations.BleachedAnusDawg said:Pete flipped Buddha before he coached a game at UW and everyone (most) said he would suck at recruiting. DB got shut out.

@sonics1993
Do you see DeBoer needing to rely heavily on the portal until he gets some coaches who can recruit or an NIL program that can cover up some of those deficiencies?
Given that we could lose 10 after this spring, do you see them hitting the portal again this summer? -

I was right, first. Enemy of the program.bananasnblondes said: -
Maybe Oregon can hire his brother. Paid dividends for us??

And really? Guy just bounces from whatever program is up at the time trying to rep his company. It isn't about the players it's about his bottom line. Fucking scum bag.
-
Oregon is up? They got buttfucked by Utah twice last season and have a first time head coach. They're way more up than Washington and have been recruiting a million times better lately (read: actually getting commits), but I think FSP sucks off any major program that his boys commit to. Yes, for promotion.Ice_Holmvik said:And really? Guy just bounces from whatever program is up at the time trying to rep his company. It isn't about the players it's about his bottom line. We just offered a Juco d lineman and atransfer D lineman. I'm guessing we could see more attrition there

Time will tell if we can close on some players, but this official visit list is looking really good. I also like that we are bringing kids in earlier, as most kids were committing before Jimmy could even set them up for a visit the last couple years.

Recent offers going out. Don't ask me if any are good. I'm so desperate I'll doog for the next 1 star who commits.

Eklund with the "Something is Brewing" post. Which previously unheard of recruit will we be stealing from Colorado State this time?

Grad transfer portal woof.

Pulling kids from the Fun Belt … that’s the ticket

Deboer's "recruiting" has been AIDS so far.

I know we're piling on the shitty recruiting right now, but this grad transfer from UAB was actually fucking good in 2019 and 2020. Was all conference both those years and had some pretty decent numbers. Was apparently hurt for most of last year.
I'm not opposed to bringing him in for 1 year as a grad transfer.
Edit: 103 tackles, 16 tfl, 9 sacks in 2019, which is the last time he played a full season. Was on at least one pre season AA list going into 2020.
The bitching about recruiting is warranted, but a bit of a stretch for this kid. -
I honestly don’t care about stars - competition for the player (offers/strong interest) is the key factor for me.bananasnblondes said:I know we're piling on the shitty recruiting right now, but this grad transfer from UAB was actually fucking good in 2019 and 2020. So I don’t disagree about his 2019 stat line being impressive. But I also don’t think our WAC coaches are unmatched talent evaluators, especially if a kid is across the country. So it’s weird that UCF was his next big offer. I’m sure other local schools were intrigued by his past stats, but they apparently looked into him and passed.
I think that’s a valid concern to raise. All that being said, he’s a one year player so whatever. The coaches are clearly trying to put this class together with duct tape since they haven’t figured out how to out-recruit our conference rivals. -
Just got a crystal ball for Rashid. Would be a good get.
