If you need any confirmation head over to the dawg pound. Those fuckers are are leg humping all over this big time commit.
If this player has a career that approaches Aaron Fuller that would be a big time win
But if you’re a big time player in DFW you aren’t under the radar and not ranked … there’s about 20 schools that know about you and passed
With his measurables compared to what Fuller was as a supposed #1 wr in 2019, holy fuck that is an awful take.
And your whole argument seems to be "Teq knows DFW players." Sure.gif
He could put on some weight, but Jesus Christ it's retarded to lean hard one way or the other about this kid.
Considering that you have the worst takes/opinions here this response isn’t surprising
1) Aaron Fuller was the #1 WR in 2019 … our WRs also sucked in 2019
Fuller was a rotational player that was not a top receiver in any kind of reasonable situation
My point is simply that if this player is able to replicate Fuller’s career as a solid contributor (not a star) that would be a win
2) I know DFW because I lived there and know how things generally work … you’re not under the radar in the DFW Metroplex because everybody recruits you. Again, this is similar to Fuller coming out of a Dallas suburb … very good player but passed on by the local schools
3) I haven’t watched film so it’s probably not completely fair to opine … but UW is recruiting like they have nothing to sell and win in recruiting (partly true because of the NIL strategy) … big picture is that a recruiting class that looks like this isn’t a recipe for high end success

Back 1/2 of 3rd point is crux of all this. This class and the last two b4 it (obv. those are not on KD) is not good enough (and that's playing in the Pac-12 which is saying something). If it somehow is, it's not sustainable, and if it is then we lucked out and have Chris P 2.0 and Kalen is the unicorn.
Until our philosophy changes on NIL (if we even have the money people who want to play in those waters) I just don't see how this changes in a meaningful way. Majority of top end HS recruits in this state are not even seriously considering UW imo and are putting us in their top 6/8/10 as a courtesy to the home school.
We beat out UConn and South Alabama for this kid. Juice Brown picking up where Terrence and Willip left off
He has an offer from Utah from a month ago, but still.
Same Utah who you said only was good last two years b/c SC, UW and UCLA sucked?
#cherrypick
They've always had a solid/good defense.
I said they only *won the conference* because those other schools were down; Offense and getting skill players means you can be good but still lose to a burned out coach 10-3 in the conference championship game.

There is no way around the fact that our recruiting sucks, but plenty of guys come out of Dallas that get missed during recruiting. Same for LA, same for Miami, etc. It happens every year.
This is true and that’s always the hope … but I think you’d agree that if that’s your strategy it’s more likely to fail than succeed
I think you’d also agree that in the heavily populated states the under the radar success tends to come more from the lower rated/scouted leagues

Are we done here?
UW can recruit and sign 100 kids with the exact same offer sheet at every position as the db that signed today, and you can even change out a Utah for a SC, Oregon, UCLA, etc etc wherever you want.
What would your expectation be for a average season for us even in the Pac-12?
There is no way to spin that offer sheet into a positive no matter how hard you try.
What was/is the sense of urgency to sign him middle of June?
If this is really KD and his staff's best option that says it all.
The bot who took over Coker's twitter account, who clearly died in a gay sex orgy murder suicide with DDY, has provided its artificial intelligence opinion.
Eklund said he doesn't expect in-state 4* CB Caleb Pressley to visit UW at all. He was supposedly there this week but it was "not a football-related visit". A couple months ago he was seen as a pretty big UW lean and now they can't even get him to spend the weekend there and get a free $300 dinner. Pretty pathetic.
I'm seeing 3 possibilities here with this staff 1- they simply aren't concerned with recruiting because they arrogantly think that they can coach anyone up and think kids should be coming to them 2) DeBoer is already regretting taking the UW job/ frustrated with NIL disadvantage and is not putting any extra effort into recruiting 3) this staff actually has done their due diligence and thinks some of these low ranked guys are just as good or better than the high-ranked FSP guys.

#1 stinks of Jimmy Lake. Please god no. #2 feels right. #3 is what doogs say as truth and optimists pray for. Me? Unless KDB and staff are unicorns that love the challenge of acquiring talent with both hands tied and just can’t imagine themselves leaving our two months of great weather then they will bolt as soon as they win enough to get an offer out of here.

It’s probably more of 2 than anything else minus DeBoer regretting taking the job because he gets his cash bag regardless
The reality that may be hitting him though is that our NIL approach is absolute garbage with respect to HS kids in particular
Given that there’s some 1/3 in there with the added element of leveraging the portal for guys that are undervalued there

I'm not even trying dipshit. A team that was a few plays from a rose bowl victory last year offered the kid, and they have a similar track record on developing defensive players.
If you're shitting on a getting a kid like that you're a fucking idiot.
He doesn’t have a downtime because he’s too busy pounding Michter’s and cleaning out the distressed tee shirt aisle at American Eagle Outfitters(like any self-respecting executive) but you get the point.

I'm not shitting on the kid, and if I was him, I would run to accept either UW or Utah (how serious or committable their offer is I question but putting that aside) scholarship campus site unseen as he did.
I'm crapping on how this staff is getting completely blown out and uncompetitive in recruiting although with our NIL stance it is not surprising.
You saw Utah as being a few plays from winning the Rose Bowl. I saw Ohio State not want to be the 1st half, walked in at halftime (per Ryan Day) and the leaders stood up and said "were not going out like this" then proceeded to win the 2nd half 27-3 and do anything they wanted with 5 minutes left in the game.
Just a guess, but Ohio State doesn't offer, sign or look at what the majority of our class is going to be.
We will never be them, but we shouldn't be going up against MWC schools to fill our class with either.
It's okay Ballz, there's a place for you here. Every court needs a jester.

Holy shit, it's all legal and in the open now and we STILL can't accept that the correct answer is
4.) DeBoner is working his ass off, cares a lot, and he and the staff are doing all they can, but they can't even get kids to answer the phone anymore after they ask what the cash offer is and DeBoner tells them the truth.

This is the answer. It's simple and obvious.
It's not just the lack of cash bags though. Bad recruiting, like Sark at UW calibe, takes a couple of years to recover from. Petersen recovered by snagging an amazing class of Mtn west recruits for his first at UW. Later he started having success going against the big boys, really in year three.
So...well...that's all. I don't know if there's any silver lining or hope for better days. I'm just saying there still might be.
