Do we doog too much?

or has the term "doog" evolved?

Doog was originally meant to mean "Dawg coog", in that they are the UW equivalent of a coog. They care more about Oregon or Wazzu losing than anything positive with UW. The Jilted Ducks thread is a classic example of doog.

However, the term is used frequently outside this context, especially in times of genuine or faux excitement. Those feel more like the old Posi/Nega arguments of the mid-2000s.

Thoughts?

When I first started posting in 2013 doog had a specific meaning now it just gets thrown out whenever someone doesn't agree with someone else's take. It's like calling someone racist now... extremely watered down.

DDY and PGOS both used it for anyone they disagreed with and they were on opposite ends of most arguments so pretty much lost all meaning after that.

Far overused term.

I have taken "Doog" to mean irrationally positive, at least over the past few years. Such as when Jimmy Fake wore a "Run the Damn Ball" hat or Coach K leaving and thinking everything was ok.

And I'll admit I have been doogin' it up a little for DeBoer's hires / transfers / Josh Conerly / etc etc etc

After 4-16 UW is the coog to Oregon. Oddly enough the REAL coogs have done better against the Duck overlords while doing worse against UW

Ups and downs but the original was based on our coogs caring more about UW losing.

We do doog too much, Stoops week was the most hopeful I’ve felt since Kwat told the program to fuck off. I believe it’s healthy to want nice things.
