I still think his wife was there. He’s falling on the sword for her.RaceBannon said:

Nobody's touching Gruden. He's toast. This is way different than Urban.MontlakeBridgeTroll said:Even with his baggage he can get a better job than UW.
Dream on.
The UW job just isn't that desired any more.
Maybe we can get Jim Mora?
According to a friend of mine that was on the Husky team with Mora, he is a bit of a pussy.
And everyone alive then knows it
Urban deserves our compassion. Its a disease- sex addiction -

Gruden had the worlds greatest job security. He signed for ten years and 100 million. And got tossed.
He’s done.
He won’t be getting another gig in media either unless it’s with Outkick. -
Not that he'll need another gig. Though a guy like Gruden might kill himself if he has to sit still. Curious to see how much he recoups of the $65m that's left on his contract.dnc said:Gruden had the worlds greatest job security. He signed for ten years and 100 million. And got tossed.

He willingly resigned. He will get nothing.GreenRiverGatorz said:

Almost certainly a negotiated resignationBleachedAnusDawg said:

outside the emails (which, not great, jon) id be wary of hiring of him. he seems to be too much of a 'football guy' to go recruit and resonate with college kids.
yes, he won a super bowl (and never came close to repeating that success) but he's a .500 career coach. -
It sure seems odd that he would willingly walk away from that much money when he would almost certainly get 8 figures if he drew it out and settled. But it would also seem odd that a settled resignation would be negotiated so quickly, and by a team with well known cash flow issues.GrundleStiltzkin said:

So I don't know what the fuck is going on. -
The dude is tireless, so I do think he'd have the right temperament for the recruiting game. But a common criticism of him in the NFL was that his scheme was way too complicated, and he had trouble dumbing it down for professionals. The stupidity of college kids would drive him over the edge.rodmansrage said:outside the emails (which, not great, jon) id be wary of hiring of him. he seems to be too much of a 'football guy' to go recruit and resonate with college kids.
