Bill Maher nails it

Not sure what you are saying. I've posted lots of positive things that need to get done. I'd agree that the problem is a leftard mindset. We are a phucked up society that doesn't deserve the things we have been gifted and are intent on throwing away.Tequilla said:I’m not really interested in what has happened ... and that’s true about most topics
What I’m interested in is what do we want something to be and then working to carrying out that vision
I hear often about how this and that is broken ...
The great thing in those situations is that’s a great platform to scrap the current and make substantial positive changes
Yet when it comes time to do that we’re too busy talking about all the reasons we can’t do stuff
Like I said elsewhere, it’s all a mindset -
I had an experience like that when Trump was running the first time. There was so much in the media about Trump and Latinos at the time. I got to taking to a Mexican Gardner/handyman while he was working.TurdBomber said:One of my kids got the full-meal-SJW-deal in HS and college. Then she spent the summer in a poor country on another continent where everyone there, including the doctors and teachers, had the same singular goal in life: To come to the United States.
Not Europe. Not Asia. Not even Canada.
The United Fucking States.
We aren't just a silly people. We are a stupid, gullible people taking for granted everything the rest of the world would die for.
I asked him about Trump. He didn’t give a shit about whether he won or not and talked about how great America is and how much more money he was making. A lot of the “issues” aren’t actually issues. -

Why is it so hard to understand that people can be complex and not fall into some boilerplate definition of "liberal" or "conservative"? Not every liberal is one of the woke freaks on Twitter, just like not every conservative is storming the Capitol with a confederate flag. If a clip like this of Bill Maher surprises you, you've never watched Bill Maher. For fuck's sake, his previous show was literally called, "Politically Incorrect With Bill Maher." Railing against political correctness and "calling it like he sees it" is kind of his thing.
Maher identifies with the left when it comes to most issues. He's a Hollywood animal loving pro-abortion vegetarian atheist socialist. But he's complex. He comes off as an incredibly smug asshole who thinks his farts don't stink, but his show is definitely unique in that you don't get the sense it was bought and paid for by a political party or big business (he's often pointed out the freedom of not having advertisers). His guests are overwhelmingly liberal, but not for lack of trying. His favorite guests are people like Ann Coulter (every time he interviews her, all I can think is that they have to be fucking) and Milo and Jordan Peterson, who he's always trying to get and typically gives a tough but fair interview to. He wants to be Hollywood elite, so he sometimes blows big-time actors and whatnot, but he's equally fair and tough to liberal politicians who come on the show if he has a problem with what they're doing. One of his biggest and most frequent schticks is railing on the democratic party for being weak losers who wouldn't know what winning was if they saw it (he is to being a Democrat as Hardcore Husky is to being a Husky). He's stated many times that, although policing is broken, the country has gone too far with the anti-police rhetoric. He's stated many times that, although the #metoo movement is important and should be taken seriously, it's also gone too far. One his most frequent things is pointing out the hypocrisy of "supporting" fundamentalist Islam's abuse of women while cancelling Louis CK's or Al Franken's careers.
Mostly, though, he rolls his eyes at crazy, over the top PC bullshit and modern wokeness. Calling out harmful political correctness has been His Thing since he was just a touring comic. He's old, smug, has made anti-PC his defining character trait, is all about "winners win" and wants his team to start cheating like the other guys in order to win at all cost. In other words: Which one of you fucks is Bill Maher?

Doesn't it take like 14 years to do it legally? And why would we promote the legal form when we don't give a shit about the illegal form?Tequilla said:

China has numerous strengths and a shit ton of weaknesses.
Seemingly everywhere else in the world America is viewed as the land of opportunity.
Anybody that has done any amount of travel not only within our country and outside of it understands why that’s the case.
Too many in this country live in their bubbles and only see the world through that lens. Few understand what it means to take a long walk on the beach for perspective.
Is this country perfect? Absolutely not.
We should understand our imperfections and work to solve them. While I don’t necessarily agree with some of the whiplash response to policing issues in this country, I do think one of the great things about our country is that we can have those discussions.
For those that want us to turn into a Scandinavian country for instance, you always have the option of moving there if that works for you. But when push comes to shove, nobody really does that. That whole action vs words thing you know.
We should be openly promoting legal immigration ... if you have a desire to pursue your best life and have aspirations that we can help you achieve ... let’s get through the process
But if you’re coming into the country to be a resource drain ... nope -

We should obviously care about illegal immigration ... and really illegal activity in general. You can’t expect rules and laws to be enforced if you aren’t interested in enforcement. -
