The KobeSlobberer is intellectually deficient. We already have over 50,000 miles of oil pipelines in the US. Is there an environmental problem with building one more brand new state of the art pipeline? Uh, no. What is an environmental disaster is all the raw materials and exotic chemicals needed to make these massively inefficient energy producers (solar and wind) produce energy except at night (solar) or when the wind doesn't blow (wind, most of the time). I’m not an anti climate change person. I sense it’s overblown by many at the same time for other purposes. Then hear things like environmental justice and equity in the GND, which makes me a skeptic that the motives are pure.
My rationale opinion is that you’ll get where you want to go faster and better by making a strict economic argument. Which hasn’t been made by anyone yet. -

Find a way to extract lithium without destroying groundwater and the surrounding environment, without catching fire in engine compartments, and with a clean process for disposal or recycling, and I'm on board.
Unfortunately, it will be 2200 A.D. or so when that happens.
