@CallMeBigErn is hearing that it's a good thing the PAC12 gave itself a one year death sentence.
Don't twist.
We're playing football this year. Take your screenshots.
Sure, a meaningless exhibition season that helps solidify the irrelevance of the PAC12 while being net negative in revenue.
But it may, kind of, sort of, perhaps save one life since we are going to play but on a postponed schedule...
It's going to be a season with an asterisk for every conference. It's going to be a shitshow. Why is the Big 10 suddenly given a pass?
Once Covid passes, this will all be water under the fridge. This is not the death sentence that y'all are making it out to be.
Disagree. It won't be SMU bad, but sitting out the season while every other major conference plays will fuck us long-term.
The financial hit will take its own toll, but the knock to our reputation after a 6+ year period of the conference not even being remotely competitive on the national stage is going to be hard to overcome. We're further widening the gulf between us and the rest at the exact time we can't afford to.
College football has never been kind to those who can't keep up.
Who says we're sitting out? We're playing football this season. LIPO.
If we start play before November and are eligible for the CFP, then sure, damage will be minimal.
Any other scenario harms us substantially.
No shit. Let's cross that bridge when we get there. Like I said, it's kind of like shitting on a recruiting class in March.
We know the consequences of not playing. We are now the only major conference that's not playing. This is why we are going to be playing. And I happen to think that playing responsibly is a good thing for the Big 10 and the Pac 12, not a bad thing. That belief seems to be foreign here, especially among the Good Ol' Boys Club.
It just occurred to me that the Pac 12 is like that loser guy who’s the last of his group to get married. He tells everyone that he finally found the right girl or some other bullshit, but in reality he just no longer had any friends who’d go to the club with him to hit on chicks.

Nothing says “record media contract” like being the only conference to sit out a season in the few years before negotiating a new TV deal or disclosing a rapid testing solution only to sit on it and do nothing for weeks on end so when you decide you have to come back to the table you only have time for 4-6 games. Solid shit PAC 12. Solid,
I like to get super pissy about the team not playing then get super bitchy about the team when they do play. Fire Jimmy, TSIO, etc. As a Husky fan, this is what I like to do.
Seriously though, I need more people around here to die so I can buy a house. SO PLAY BALL

1) This for sure
2) The 5% shutdown for the Big Ten is a fun with numbers game their playing. It's based on a 7 day rolling average of all tests taken. So it would have to be 5 out of every 100, but if 2 guys test positive for it on day 1 out of 85 they will be pulled. The next day 83 are tested. let's say only 1 guy is positive. Your true rolling percentage is 3/168 or well within the 5% limit.
3) How the Pac-12 has handled this is the dictionary definition/textbook example of why the rest of CFB looks at us as the varsity version of the MWC. Three P5 conferences are going to start/attempt to play a season. The 4th conference votes against it, but because of fan/player/coaches push back, along with "better testing criteria" that conferences Presidents re-evaluate the information and decide to try and play a season. Meanwhile on the west coast, the last P5 conference (who is the 4th conferences rhymes with rich) for the last two weeks has had a cheap daily test they could administer players, but as of last Friday were still only going to play a 6-8 game season in January because of who knows why, but magically today have reversed course and will play form of season beginning last week of October/1st week of November. Little Advice to the Conference of Champions: If you are going to act (and play) like you don't care about football, don't be butt-hurt when no one else cares about you either.

I thought what we had at the Duchess was special.
That was you? It was dark in the ladies’ room at the glory hole.

I put this in the Tug because of Trump tweets, and because I wanted to be able to address that with Trump now pushing for this, it's going to be awfully hard for Newsom, Brown and Inslee, the trifecta of dumbfuckery, to not find some way to go against this.
I also did it because I can. Mod powers are awesome. So suck it. Losers.
