We laughed at the Republican busybody who couldn't joke, declared war on dirty paintings, and peered through your bedroom window. Now that person has switched sides, and nobody's laughing
In that book, he essentially describes getting sick of the shit, much of which he'd eagerly joined in on.
Yeah he's an amazing writer who I sense is becoming more conservative over time. For most, it's a natural occurrence.
Eh, I don't think he's any kind of conservative. More that he's fully aware of the bullshit ruining REAL liberalism.
He's not conservative, but he seems so when directly compared with today's far left
Welcome to my world
Long haired FM listening dope smoking McGovern voter is the archest of the arch conservatives here
I think I was like 3rd or 4th grader when McGovern ran for POTUS. My teacher was pretty hot. And she made no secret she was a Democrat and McGovern was her guy.
We had this lesson on the Electoral College and held a mock election. She put all the states' names in a hat and we each came up and drew our state. Young Throbber scored with California....big number in those days. Of course, hoping he could be an early version of Vili to her Mary Kay Letourneau, the Throbber cast his ballot for McGovern.
Wah wah wah....McGovern gets shelled come election time, teacher is depressed and young Throbber goes home with a pre-pubescent case of blue balls.
Everyone I knew hated Nixon, adult and peers. I was 16. I will never forget 5PM PST when Walter Cronkite came on and called it for Nixon. They could do that back then. I was shocked. I suspected Russian interference. Macedonian troll farms. Stunned and amazed. Dick ended up with 48 states.
It was ok to run McGovern because the election was about Nixon and nothing else. Invasion of Cambodia, Kent State, riots on campus. The country hated him I tell you they hated him
His law and order campaign was completely out of touch with where America was in 1972. Allegedly.
Not only law and order but also pro-America versus commie supporting dems. McGovern was way out of touch with the US dem congressman. Lots of them were pro-American. Today, they all root for the away team.

This is sounding familiar... Reagan in 84 was also similar no?

@HHusky @incremetal_progress @insinceredawg and others who reflexively recite the “racist Magtard” catechism would be well advised to read that.
