This shit appeals to nobody that wasn't already motivated to vote for Trump already. In fact it actively motivates people to vote against him.

Let me think about what I care about more.

    1. The seizure of my property and further restrictions placed on my 1a and 2a rights.

    2. Some mean tweets reacting to fs pc mob culture.

This is what people on the Left can't seem to grasp. There's bigger fish at stake than civilized rhetoric and political correctness.
anyone who isn't super plugged in politically is thinking about the economy, race, covid, etc. Most of them haven't a clue what you are talking about here, because it's nonsense. And it's especially dumb because no one associates Joe frieking Biden, the senator from MBNA basically a moderate republican, as someone who would do any of those things.

Wrong It's the end of political correctness. Trump knows the middle of the bell curve is up to their eyeballs with the bullshit. He knows it infuriates the leftists and causes them to do more stupid shit in AARGH MEAN ORANGE MAN mode - which just pushes the leftists farther away from the type of sane, rational people we want in charge of our country.

Dementia Joe is playing right into it by not condemning the crazies.

The "middle of the bell curve," aka your average American, is worried about the economy, COVID and race relations. They are not worried about the fucking Redskins changing their names.

And the second tweet is pretty disgusting. That looked like a fucking noose and many others that also saw it felt that way too. Maybe it was there since last fall, but to single out the person of color and demand he apologize is racism. The "middle of the bell curve" is not demanding an apology from Bubba Wallace right now.

I have 4 kids and they unfortunately are the youth of America and its future politics.

Oldest is a flaming liberal and not sure how she got that way. Portland St?
Second is very sympathetic to the leftist cause as is her hubby. Educ: Arizona
Third: I thought was a little more level headed but is moving left and he told me Trumps tweeting is affecting him. He be an Engineer in the Ferry System
Fourth: Conservative and a CPA - but starting to give up on Trump's rhetoric, attack mode tweets.

Our best friends are die-hard leftists. He was a big union guy and his other half kind of buckled under with his constant ranting - MSNBC is their guide.

So that is what I see happening around my circle and it is scary.
Think I will go get a beer.

I thought the 2016 election was difficult to handicap

That was easy compared to 2020

No one know nothing, including us.

By conventional wisdom in conventional times, Trump is done, dead & buried. His greatest strength, the economy, is not in the shitter, it's all way out the pipe and fouling the waters off Victoria. Furthermore, before things went to hell, Trump had the failed impeachment fiasco to play. Now, I don't think anyone undecided remembers now or cares.

But holy shit, these are no conventional times. People are anxious and scared. That's not unprecedented, except now there's no tangible or external enemy. The enemy is us. It's all around. People are scared of daily life. The grocery store, crowds, the police, the neighbors, what's coming the mail, saying the wrong thing at the wrong time to the wrong people, making a wrong turn on a street. On and on. Fear is everywhere, and it's compounded by the fear that most didn't give a second thought to these things in January. Real or imagined, it's existential fear of the banal.

Trump doesn't have a good target to direct that fear against. He is, however, a great singular focus for Dems.

In mid-April, weº wondered if the electoral wild card might be some semblance of an economic light switch, and the 'Vid would be lost in the famously short American memory. That ain't happening.

However, the Intifada could be the next wildcard, the longer it plays out. I think the mid-to-far Left showed their hand too early. The George Floyd, police brutality, criminal justice reform message that I think a really large number of people support was lost within a week. Or as soon as #DefundThePolice was first uttered. If Dems think the majority of Americans like what unrolled once Defund became the narrative, they're fucking crazy. Furthermore, I think there is a significant number of people who have the implicit understanding that the worst of what happened occurred in Dark Blue jurisdictions. Then there's a big chunk of non-MAGA diehards who are pretty pissed about the ongoing national self-flagellation, separate from some fealty to Trump. They're just keeping their mouths shut.

Hang on to your ass Nov. 4. It's going to be ugly no matter who wins.
