The problem isn’t one day of tranny training in kindergarten. The problem is the following 12 years of tranny training followed by years of college tranny training. The issue isn’t acceptance it’s the view that trannies are better people than white males or females. I’m supposed to think that having tranny males visiting girl’s restrooms is just fine. I’m supposed to believe that male trannies should have their surgeries paid for by me. Can’t have medical insurance pay for a woman to have bigger boobs but you have to have medical insurance to pay for men to have bigger boobs and visits to the gynecologist. If you say that you don’t want to date or have sex with a male tranny that that is hate speech. If you don’t think that Bruce Jenner is the bravest female on the planet you are also a hater. If you don’t want tranny males dominating girl high school track you are a hater.
Toss in the fact that tranny education is a school priority and that educating students about the historical harm and death that socialism and communism has caused isn’t.

I put my kids in private school until high school. Avoids many problems but it ain't cheap.

I don't believe, personally, in spending money on private k-12 unless the public schools are lousy. I pay way too much in property taxes.
If this classroom agenda shows up in my mailbox, I'll just politely tell the administration, that when that lesson comes up, they can send my daughter to the library and she can do an alternative project that will actually help her mental development.

I understand as I didn't want to either. We decided to do it for educational and moral reasons. They ended up better off so it was worth every penny. I decided I'd give them every advantage I could. More overtime at work and some from savings. I'd do it again.

You have no way of knowing this, but it makes you feel good about your decision.

My kindergartner starts transgender studies next week. According to Seattle Public Schools, kids by the age of 5 or 6 can have sorted out their preferred gender identity. And as a result, their classmates - who are just learning how to read and write mind you - need to learn the proper pronouns to use.

Are you going to push back?
I might. I'm struggling with the response, however. Look, all I care about at this age is that my kid is a good human and treats hit classmates with respect. Follow the Golden Rule. But how the fuck is a 5.5 year old supposed to start processing transgender issues? Fucking Christ...
    Totally agree.
Yeah, that's why you vote for people who push this shit.

I always find the 'moral reasons' argument almost comical as it relates to sending kids to private schools.

Jesus said to go into the world and make disciples. He didn't say go off into a cost-prohibitive cloistures with like-minded students.

Part of being a good human and treating others with respect is learning about differences.

I don't get the worry here. Are you concerned your son will want to be be trans because he learns about it in school?
No, I'm not worried about my kid wanting to be trans and I'm not pulling my kid from class that day. My family respects differences just fine (e.g., be a best man at a same sex wedding -before it was legal - and then pop off). But my objection is the age they are trying to teach this shit to kids. They're fucking 5 or 6 depending - how are they supposed to process this information?
Holy crap. It's only part of the curriculum for one day? I don't get the pearl clutching.

We spent months on the metric system in elementary school.
    Fuck off glove

Sledoog didn't say his private school was religious-based; or even that it was Christian. But given his non-stop moral majority virtue signaling your assumption is probably correct.

But goddammit Throbber, your point about Jesus schools is so fucking spot on.

I think your cherry picking you're scriptures there. And these kids aren't cloistered 24/7, unless we're talking the really weird ones. In fairness, that might be sled's situation.

All things being equal, there's nothing wrong choosing to put your kid in an environment that reinforces your values.

Public or private school, I think the bigger issue is that we? as parents outsource a big chunk of our kids' formation to other people. I know I'm guilty of that bigly. I ain't doing no homes schools.
I don't care if an elementary school pushes this, as long as I have the right (fortunately parents still do) to pull my child out of a project or subject if I feel the topic is beyond elementary school understanding. What benefit does my child get with a lesson he or she doesn't understand?

We live in a society that is becoming more and more aware of gender identification. Thus, it's a topic people should learn as it will be increasingly more important for social interactions, it's just not something that needs to be taught when a child is 6 and still hasn't mastered the art of tying one's shoes. If a school wants to make it part of the agenda, that's fine with me. My child just won't be in class for that lesson.

I don't really think that's anyone's worry. It's simply disproportionate attention to something that has very little to do with the school's mission once it extends beyond emphasizing the golden rule.

To me sex ed is fine in middle school. That is science. Teaching transgender is Psychology because it is a mental illness that the poor souls need help with. So if you are in a Psychology class go ahead and educate students. If you have an agenda and it is to socially mold young minds into believing what a liberal thinks is right, it has no place in a classroom. That is pure indoctrination. We were very selective on which school system we wanted to live in when we moved back from CA to GA. We saw what CA schools were teaching and wanted none of that. The system we chose was the best public school system in the state. They taught the basics and required each student to learn a musical instrument all three years of middle school. My children learned their morals and compassion for others at home and I would have been pissed beyond pissed if they ever tried that bullshit about transgender and it being normal when the kids were in Kindergarten. I would have had to run to the school to be in line to voice my displeasure because there would have been about a 1000 other parents trying to beat me to it at the same time. If feel for you trying to raise kids in the public school system in Seattle. Like someone else said in this thread, I would be fighting it tooth and toe nail. And I agree with you, our taxes go to pay for public school education. No one should have to yank their kids out of public schools to protect them and then pay exorbitant tuition at private schools.
