Look at Nick Harris' physical trajectory. Other success stories include Newton, McGrew, Dissly, Sample, Otton, and basically all of the DBs.

What he can do with Cam Williams and Asa Turner will be telling.

Keep telling yourself that. Otton isn't half the receiver Bryant is and he still can't block his way out of a wet paper bag.

Bryant may be a WR but he was our best WR by a mile this season. Him declaring is a huge loss unless Nacua, Bynum and Jones can all step up next year and we can spread the ball around.

Otton is not a WR. We have to rely on him for blocking, and he fucks up his blocking assignments more often than not. He sucks until he doesn't.

Unless Otton substantially improves his blocking, we need Kizer to be healthy, and we need either Westover or Redman to contribute. Our TE room is very close to being a full on dumpster fire.

Newton still has to prove he's more than a short yardage and goal line RB. Ahmed is still underwhelming but he got better throughout the year. At least there's some depth there.

Anyone who thinks Akmed should go (including akmed) is a fucktard.
He should go because his stock isn't going up and RB's have a short shelf life.

Day 3 pick at best. Dont want to sound like I'm bashing him but he has played 1 full season in 3 years and didn't have that good of a year. Dropped way too many passes. Best of luck to him but oh what could have been.....

I mean, maybe he was a bit inconsistent, but he was #3 in the nation in catches and receiving yards for a TE. Not his fault the offense was trash this year.

Everyone shitting on Bryant isn't paying attention to his level of production this year. Yes, he had drops. I think he had one egregious game, but otherwise didn't see anything bad beyond what you'd see watching any college game.

Personally, I thought he looked bored in some games. I would knock him for that, but not his production.

For all the retards on here, the best comp for Hunter is Aaron Hernandez, minus the murdering (hopefully).

Unless Otton substantially improves his blocking, we need Kizer to be healthy, and we need either Westover or Redman to contribute. Our TE room is very close to being a full on dumpster fire.

I agree with you that Bryant is better, and that Otton's blocking is overrated because he's huge and white. But he's far above average as a pass catcher and does a great job of carving out space in a zone D. We're not deep at tight end, but Otton is a great returning starter to have.

Way to completely miss the point, fuck-o. I never said that Otton wasn't a dependable pass-catcher, what I said is he's gonna come nowhere close replacing the leading receiver on the team.

Otton is not a move TE or offensive weapon. He's an above average receiver for a TE. Which would be great if he could block too, but he can't block for shit, which makes him a mediocre TE overall.

Bryant was our best weapon in the receiving game. Saying Otton is an upgrade over Bryant is an fucktarded argument. And that's what Houhusky said, not that Otton is good enough returning starter, which yeah, whatever. He's fine.

This. As wild as my imagination can at times be, I can't conjure up a scenario where no Hunter Bryant > than Hunter Bryant.

This is almost as retarded as BTP and Ballz arguing with Creep (which is like a retard arguing with Einstein) about not missing MMFG because The Terrorist is Elite!!

Bryant is a gifted player. He had shit ass moments and he had breathtaking "wtf was that?" moments as well. Witness the one hander against THE Ohio State U, they of very elite DBs, which is included in this thread. You don't not miss dudes who can do that. Sorry.

Otton is fine blocker at the line, but if you ask him to block in space he struggles

Otton is a top notch receiving TE, certainly not at Hunter's level of athleticism, but a great pass catcher nonetheless and a very nice athlete.

Hunter was basically our only feature WR and made huge plays for us, but Nacua and Bynum should balance out his loss, both of whom can actually produce YAC, unseen from any UW WR since 2016.

Newton will likely never be more than a short yardage guy, but I don't care, having a guy like him on 3rd and 2 means everything in football. He plays angry, hits the hole hard, breaks tackles, and scores the ball.

Ahmed's 89 yarder against USC was breathtaking but he simply cannot break tackles, has below average everything for an RB, except speed, etc., and is too often a drive-killer.

Salvon should declare because health will always be an issue, he will not get better in college, and the NFL will favor his speed and quickness, where RB is a much more niche position.

Next year will be 40% Davis, 30% Newton, with McGrew and Sunday (yeah I said it) getting some carries.

    edited December 2019

The problem is not that Hunter is leaving (which is fucktarded -> not sure the NFL is dying for chronically injured 6-2, 240 TEs who run 4.7+, can't run routes, drop a lot of balls and are inconsistent blockers), although it would be great to get him back next year because with some actual coaching he could be a super stud CFB player...

The issue is that we only recruited 3 other guys in the last 20 years for an offense that uses 73 TEs on every fucking play (BUT KEEP PAOPAO HE'S SO GRRREAT!!) and we are only confident about one of them (Otton). One of them has no idea what he's doing (yet? He's a RS-FR, players have been known to improve) and the other one has a MAJOR FUCKING BACK INJURY.

Good think we have a walk-on and an OL guy there! SUPER JOB POOPAO!

Hunter still takes false steps in his routes/releases that’s HS shit!!!! but Will Dissly is the NFL, so PaoPao must be great!!!
