The more likely scenario is that some worthless piece of shit customer relations bottom feeder told Derek it would be worked on right away when it wasn't ever going to be.
So after Derek's 5th or 6th angry message, because customers find out they've been shitted on much quicker than dumbfuck managers think they do, eventually some other worthless piece of shit project manager is going to go yell at the dev team like it's not 100% his/her own fault for having the devs push something out that wasn't properly tested. Then the devs will be forced to fix it and support the changes and newly introduced bugs as a result of rushing the fix out over the holidays. The devs will get lazy because they know that they've just been handed a shit sandwhich, and the lead/cto/whoever the fuck the real grownup is over there will go handle it.
Meanwhile useless cm and dm go talk to relatives over Thanksgiving as if they actually contribute to the product that writes their paycheck. -
Everyone needs to pack their patience. Let's not let our collective PTSD from the Chin Crisis of '18 dictate a negative assumption now. Let's let it play out before acting like the sky is falling.
