I think the TSIO brand might be stronger than some folks here suspect.Doogles said:Most big-time schools(SEC,B10) only have 1 concentrated board with live traffic. The elites usually have a second tier rival with decent traffic.
Washington being the SEC of the west has 3 boards with sustained traffic. UW dawg pound has bit into dawgman quite a bit, every article has anywhere from 20-200 comments. That's not bad for UW talk sans filth.
I check there mainly for concentrated links to Washington articles or updates on former players because the Doog in me loves that shit.
Then there's also crazy Ruth who has some sort of pull.
My long winded point being trying to monetize insight into Washington sports by breaking off into another faction was probably never going to work.
DDY could learn something from lispy Oregon fan and make drunken YouTube breakdowns to boost traffic. None of their "brands" are strong enough to support it as is. -
I think the BD2W goal is to convince the Husky fanbase to support their ideals, as well as to rebrand Washington fans in their image.
In general that's a good thing, as we all hate our fans, and those guys are passionate Husky fans who die when we lose, but their platform is awful. It's painful to look at even on a laptop.

So I didn't discover this wonderful cesspool of true Huskies until 2015. I'd been floundering over on Doogman since 2006, dying for something critical and honest and fucking real to mirror my Husky fandom. Plus, I hate those fucking mods and their passive aggressiveness and laziness, not to mention 90% of the posters who defend anything those losers write and just accept mediocrity. UWDawgPound is aight and, like another poaster here said earlier, is a nice roundup of Husky athletics, but the analysis and comments were/are kinda light. As for Ruth, you'd have to be cataclysmically in-fucking-sane to ever pay her a dime. Might as well just donate to Trump's campaign.
Somehow (I can't remember), I found my way to Hardcore Husky. At first I didn't think it was actually real, with all the crude dick picks and soft porn. But then after reading informed posts from Dennis and Coker and Grundle and Swaye and Doog de Jour and Doog Courics et. al., it fucking hit me: I found my people!
I started listening to TSIO, heard Dennis talk about the different shades of our gold pants, and quickly realized YaleDawg, who was my favorite poster on Doogman, was reincarnated into his true self. Add LaMichael Corleone from last year, and this place was hopping.
I've tried to listen to Huskyfanpodcast (I'm sure Chest and Jimmy are great Dawgs and I won't bash cause I know they care), but it pales in comparison to TSIO. As for TSIO, I find myself laughing while learning more not just about recruiting but about Husky history, Pete's process, and just a general feeling of pride that I care so much about something so little. It's true dopamine. I wish those fuckers would record more.
As other poasters here have said, I too was eager for BD2W. To be honest, a less crude version of HH with all the critical analysis and hot takes would be welcome for my Husky fandom. I know most of my buddies, who lurk on Twitter and some on Doogman, would love a more mature version of HH, if that's even possible. But yeah, their UX and mobile experience is Netscape dial-up bad.
All this said, and maybe it's simply because the BD2W mods don't post save for Airwolf, I realized I kinda missed the uncensored voice and personalities on here and how fucking fun it is to read all the BS about the struggle of being a Dad, let alone trying to take your kid to a fucking Husky game. That's amazing, real shit.
Apologies for the long-windedness, but I too wish the BD2W dudes would return and we'd all be in the same place. Cause to be honest, this place has suffered since they left and now I have to read hawt takes by @PostGameOrangeSlices that are so fucking bad that I'm actually surprised when I don't have to downvote one of his terrible takes.
Anyway, even though I don't know half of what you degenerates are referring to with all your acronyms and fratty insider dick jokes, DOOG THE FUCK ON. I like it here. Thank you. -

HCH is like a good 100 proof bourbon. Don’t be a pussy, get through the burn and enjoy the delicious and complex finish. -
I thought Mickens, DiAndre Campbell, and Marvin Hall were bad. Hall was a great QB, marginal WR. All ended up playing for a little bit in the NFL. This year’s WR’s are probably worse. I think Fuller has a shot at playing in the NFL. Baccallia and Chico have no chance.UW_Doog_Bot said:

It's either that or they suck. I know recruiting isn't about 1 single player, rather, it's about stockpiling talent. But if neither Osborne or Spiker end up, at least, 2nd team or All Pac or better, then a pox on TBSing!! I was assured these guys were all world, can't miss prospects.NEsnake12 said:
That, and we have a coach that is unwilling to play the highly touted talent on offenseYellowSnow said:
I think where some of the TBS burnout is coming from at the moment is we have a lot of 2017 four star kids who don't seem to be making an impact for us yet.NEsnake12 said:Their entire content base is “recruiting and talent over everything”.
So after the Cal loss, when it became abundantly clear that the issues are as much with coaching as anything else, no one wants to go to their shaky interfered boards and debate about why we lost because of recruiting
It’s more about letting Fuller, Chico, and Opera Singer know they need to produce and that they don’t have guarantees to be featured players if they aren’t producing. It’s not really about Spiker or Osborne.
We play Newton. Last year we played Kirkland. Otton and Hunter Bryant played when they were young. The coaches don’t refuse to play young guys.
Yes, the offense is over complicated and I’m sure all the motions and shifts bog down young WR’s, but they wouldn’t be kept off the field if the coaches really thought they would make a difference. -
What I like about Chest and Cornel is that they will continue to talk about football. Which seems to be the point. DDY and Coker have good insight but are too high strung to make it through a season without a psychological meltdown. Also, the podcast is pretty good if you can get past the um, "accents."
I've followed DDY's schtick since the doogman days, I thought he would thrive in a place where he could be in charge because he is on the narcissistic bossypants side of things, but who even knows what he is trying to do or if he has the makeup to actually lead a fan format.
Almost anything is better than doogman I suppose, which is literally run by the least capable and insightful people you could ever ask for.

I hate that the BDTW guys have basically vanished. Chest left years ago, so whatever. Also thought his goodbye post was bullshit. AIRWOLF was never super active here. I suppose our juvenile antics did not appeal. Whatever.
I do miss Dennis and Coker and Tequilla and LMC though. That's a rough four to "lose."
I had a number of talks with a couple of them before they left, and at least they exited in a classy Nebraska way. I can appreciate what they are trying to do. That said, it seems everyone who gets a little personal brand exposure and has any kind of vision for how they want things to work feels the need to leave and do their own thing. That blows. For all of us.
As others have mentioned, this isn't the SEC. And even the SEC teams don't have 4-5 sites vying for attention. You can only split the baby so many ways. Doogfarm and Roof have the retard and casual segment all sewn up. UWDawgPound has the normals. HH has the bomb throwers and degenerates. So now we needed BDTW for the metrics folks? I will agree they specialize in recruiting and game breakdowns as well, but you can also find game stuff on UWDP and recruiting for tards with Roof and the LPT. Sure BDTW might be better at that stuff, but it is still the same stuff. And now a 5th website for a Pac-12 team.
I just don't get it. Reminds me of Baptist churches in the deep south. A church starts out with 200 members. And every year there is some renegade breakoff because of religious purity, or some type of drama, or the need to be different. Some farmer gives the breakaways an acre of land and they throw up a church of their own. 15 years later you have 22 Baptist churches all in two square miles and a dozen people going to each one of them on Sundays. Splintered. And everyone winds up the worse for it.
I miss the value those guys brought to the bored. But like many of you, I don't have time to closely follow two sites. I have time for here. So there is no there. I don't even do Twatter, because I hate Twatter plus no time for it. I wish there would have been a way to keep them here, but they wanted to go their own way. We are all diminished for it. Them included. -

While Derek and Race predicted Sark would be the coach at UW forever as long as he won 7-8 games, I before the start of the 2013 season predicted Sark would leave within two years. I was right, which is becoming commonplace lately.
(I also wrote that Mark Helfrich sucked before the NC game and would lead Oregon to regress as a program. I was viciously attacked by HardcoreHusky posters, yet I was obviously right).

DDY brand is tailor made for here where he can spew semi coherent recruiting insight wrapped in racism while disregarding actual coaching. People can argue with him on a relatively neutral ground about how fucking retarded he is for wanting to start Wellington over BBK and everything is fine, no one really cares.
Coker seems like a really nice guy that just wants to speak the truth about high school boys talent. Trying to monetize such a weird niche hobby in THIS free internet without a massive personal following or established community seems useless. IMO, he would do better being an active member here with a linked patreon account where people could directly donate to him for specific high level ideas and articles he wants to do that get posted to the front page (also rip).
TLDR: I like talking with those guys here, but its kinda weird to go argue with them on their own semi serious website that they made, that they run, about some attempt at a high level topic... Doesnt feel right calling DDY an elitist blackface wearing racist homo with a side of syphilitic moron in his own home while he is hosting an open house with a bunch of normals... idk...
His split with HH never made any sense to me in that particular context.
It started when their podcast actually got someone of mild importance on and people here actually typed up thoughtful but challenging questions they wanted asked... They softballed the interview and then defended their pussy interview with bullshit.
Have people fogotten that @HeretoBeatmyChest posted his own gloves off post about @RaceBannon and @DerekJohnson when he got pissy that everyone here realized he had been leashed by the AD?
Chest and a partially by extension Jimmy "Fredo" Cornell went full AIDS retard... They nearly took @RoadDawg55 from us with them.

Derek Johnson of HardcoreHusky helped our podcast get off the ground. I am thankful for that. However, its a bit rich to hear that he made the show and now I want to shit on him.
This statement comes from Race Bannon, a cult hero among misfit husky fans, former writer for Dawgman.com and legend in his own mind. I enjoy Race’s DuckFighter Illustrated. His satire is great. However, as senility and dementia, or both creep in, Race’s memory and thoughts are not too lucid.
Initially Derek did not support the podcast. When he did not post a link, others on his website asked why. Derek thought the podcast was juvenile and repetitive. Not that I disagreed then.
As Hardcore Husky grew so did the podcast. However, other sources also fueled the growth of the podcast and the podcast itself helped Hardcore Husky grow.
In fact, the HuskyFanPodcast, the only legitimate podcast focused exclusively on Husky Football spawned or inspired the creation of a handful of other podcasts. Derek himself started his own podcast thanks to my encouragement. Then a few others started their own recruiting focused podcast. A Hardcore Husky Radio Network was spawned.
Oh and I should also mention the one listener we had who hated us started his own podcast, as well as two guys from UWDawgpound (who also mildly objected to our cast) and Dawgman.com started doing regular podcasts.
But Derek made us?
Nevermind the roughly $500 I’ve spent hosting the site plus many hours researching and preparing for shows and generating the insights that 99% of fans can’t generate and asking the questions that most professionals won’t ask.
Derek made us?
Sadly, this isn’t the worst of Race’s thoughts in recent months. There was the one where he tried to compare the UW 2015 football team to the UW 2000 team (in an effort to support his biased, pathetic and incorrect coach hating view). I shit you not.
And the constant bashing of metrics and advanced analytics….which programs use, big business uses, etc…because its predictive! It’s like a leading indicator. When Race and his ilk correctly bashed Sark in 2010-2011 they pointed out the constant blowouts, lack of wins against good teams etc. They were making a metrics based argument but didn’t know it.
Now when the metrics favor UW, it’s meaningless bullshit.
(Race also was down on Pete Carroll early in his 3rd year despite strong metrics in year 2 (2011) when the Seahawks lost 5 games by a total of 18 points. In fact Carroll’s year 2 vs. year 1 with the Hawks is quite similar to Petersen’s year 2 vs. year 1 with UW).
HardcoreHusky and Derek Johnson will have to change with the times or the website and community will die a slow death.
At the end of Steve Sarkisian’s tenure, there was a need for a critical voice. Sark ordered Kim Grinolds of Dawgman.com to get his message boards under control. He allegedly sternly asked Kim if he wanted to be WalMart or Nordstrom (in regards to his clientele). Nevermind that WalMart makes a fuckton more. And remember Molly Yanity speaking to how Sark edited Greg Bell’s stories before he published them?
That is why we started the podcast and supported HardcoreHusky. There was a desperate need for a critical voice because there was none. And there was no need for proper decorum or etiquette.
Anyway, a championship coach fell into UW’s lap and he has his team poised to be very good this season and the years ahead. The problem for HardcoreHusky is it thrives on UW losing and fucking things up. Race and his ilk are stuck in 2005. When Petersen takes the program to a higher level, HardcoreHusky will lose its essence.
Unfortunately for Derek, he will also be at a crossroads soon. Will he continue to shell out hundreds of bucks a month so people can essentially continue to make derogatory comments about specific players, coaches and AD personnel? Note I said derogatory and not critical. It’s fine to say Jen Cohen would be a bad AD. But you can’t make derogatory comments about her.
Or will Derek take the advice I gave him, clean up his site and then be able to get back into writing with UW’s blessing? He needs to do what I told him to do and what I did or his career as a Husky writer will be over. That would be a shame because I like his books and he needs to write a book about how Petersen revitalized the program. This is a guy who was friends with Don James and knows many former players personally. (Sadly it will probably be Fetters from Dawgman.com who writes said book and we won’t get to hear about Sark’s ridiculous relationship with Dawgman.com).
But according to Race I’m shitting on Derek now.

Howlingdoog or whatever his name is was in Chest’s ear about all of this. I don’t know what happened with him and Chest, but he was doing podcasts for Ruth only a couple months after the move to Friday Harbor.
It all happened really fast. Initially, Chest was going to drift away from HH. I don’t remember there being anything about Jimmy or me needing to stop posting on HH. -

One of the things that hurts those guys most is their schtick is recruiting and Peterman isn't manic with recruiting...he's got 3/4th of the current recruiting class locked up and the main targets for the last few spots are already well known. Hard to driving a 365 day/year website when your focus (recruiting) doesn't have a lot of upcoming news expected for the next 6-9 months.
Sadly enough they (and not necessarily UW) would thrive with a Sark 2.0 HC firing 20 offers out a week and flying by the seat of their pants...hopefully we won't be there for a long, long time though.
