Weird thing I noticed yesterday on the crapper. On iPhone, clicking on the gif link takes you to an imgur page rather than raw GIF, and it show view counts. One was over 4,000 yesterday (don't remember which). Odd because the thread views are quite a bit lower.

Counting number of tims the gif played maybe?
Maybe, but it should be only one load no matter how many loops play on browser.

I thought about that but are you hot linking or loading the gif onto Vanilla? If it's hot linked isn't it possible it's counting each time?

It's hot linked to imgur. Regardless, once the resource is loaded, that should be it. HTTP is (mostly) stateless.
One time Dan Howell had a pick 6 to seal a game against UCLA. Then we lost a close game to USC the next week.
Is that the game where Stanback played really well and had us in scoring position as time expired? There was little hope of getting the last play off with no timeouts, but the team dis a good job of lining up. Then the ref fucked around and wouldn't place the ball, then Ty finally decided to stomp onto the field just as the umpire finally backed off the ball. Stanback, who was ready for the snap, paused to look over at Ty, then the clock ran out. Fuck I was pissed.

Ah, so with .gifv, looks like it chunks the file. Whether imgur counts each chunk as a distinct view, who knows.

That was the year they changed the rule and started the clock before the snap
Stanback and Chambers were totally wasted talents. Studs. Too bad. Stanback was an incredible athlete. He'd have been awesome with a good team around him.

Could be that some of these GIFs have been posted on reddit or other places so they have more views than what shows in this thread.
