Weird move. He must have fallen way out of favor and gotten passed up by both Sirmon and Morris.
Eason could get drafted after this year, at which point Haener would have a chance at starting for two years. If Eason returned for a senior year this would make a bit more sense, but Haener would still have a shot his last year at a legit program. -

I’ve been gone most the day and it’s honestly been a shitty day. Also listened to the pod of Millen arguing with Softy about how giving Haener reps isn’t sticking behind Eason and could make a bad vibe in the locker room (Eason looming over his shoulder, not feeling supported) and Softy just saying Hugh is dumb for thinking that.
So that annoyed me more.

This is an indictment on Hamdan and Petersen more than anything.
Overall it's great Haener is gone and more talented players move up the chain of opportunity, but how out of touch are you with your own QB room to be blindsided by a double portal in Spring then waste half your 1st team reps on a guy who portals immediately once you tell him what everyone else already knew?
Inspires zero confidence the offense is being run by adults. Where else are they completely out of touch? I bet the WR room depth chart could be completely flip flopped and it would be more productive. -
