Time to “infringe” on this privilege, not right. Let’s know who has guns and make them qualify and requalify to possess them. Hard time for unlawful possession. And some weapons should simply be unlawful per se.creepycoug said:I have nothing to add here. We've always had guns and we've always had mental illness. Don't know what's changed other than the first guy who let the genie out of the bottle and then established the blue print for the bananas that followed.
Sure I think it would be marginally helpful for everyone to tone down the political rhetoric, but it's not going to stop it entirely. Fanning the flames of one nut's issue dejour doesn't help of course but it isn't the root cause of the whole thing IMHO. The guy who killed 21 in San Diego bought a boom box with him and played that dreadful The Warrior song. I remember people arguing "it was that song!" Lolz.
More guns so everyone can shoot back? Sounds like more mess to me, even though it's a sledog wet dream. But, Never going to collect them all. Nutties will always find them. Too late for that.
I got nothing here. Except maybe just stay home.
And no, any step toward improvement won’t be simple or perfect. But not one of these gun fetshists talking about mental illness really want to do anything about that either. It’s just a distraction. -

You two idiots are hypocrites who are blatently taking advantage of these situations for political gain. You really don't care about the victims. An African American kills 8 cops in Dallas, not a peep. Some rando home grown terrorist and his little helper shooting and killing people on the highway in the MW, crickets. 300 deaths so far this year in liberal utopia Chicago, nada from you two idiots.
IT has nothing to do with Chicago and everything to do with your hypocrisy and politics at all cost. The victims are only traction for your politics. -
Well Atl, I remember when you were more troubled by the gun issue. I see you’ve “evolved” to gundamentalism. Is that simply a reaction to who is on the other side or are you now armed?Bendintheriver said:HHusky said:

Are you shaking and about to vomit over your moral outrage? Kinda like when people pick an act of violence by an illegal alien, hang enough paper about it to make Goebbels blush, then pretend to care about the victim and launch into immigration politics, a practice that has helped immigration become the single largest area of focus in American politics? Kinda like that? Kinda like when an illegal alien rapes some white girl and then I don't hear you saying shit about 300 in Chicago? Hey, if the illegal alien weren't here, that rape doesn't happen. Hey, if that kid in the South Side doesn't have that gun, no shooting? Kinda like that level or rhetoric?Bendintheriver said:HHusky said:

It is not practicably feasible to collect the guns. Sure, I'll take tighter regulation. Most reasonable people would. But guns are here to stay. Have to make peace with it and find a work around to the problem, if there be one to find.HHusky said:

Simple as it sounds, that is the issue right there. Collecting guns in inpracticable and there will without a doubt be an active and healthy black market for them. You'll only create more crime. It's just like drugs. There is no perceptible difference. -
I’m not setting any unrealistic expectations. I understand many will violate the law if you tighten regulation. But there should be no question that those who do so will be punished if caught. And I’m all for allowing people who pass robust vetting to possess some types of firearms.creepycoug said:
