The overwhelming majority of gun violence is not from the crowd that's trained on and has respect for guns. It's generally from those that acquire guns through illegal means or legally with little to no training. I would support mandatory gun class in schools, like schools in areas with a lot of water require swimming. -

Maybe. To me it sounds like good policy. Now I don't know enough about the intents of the drafting lawmakers to speculate as to whether or not they're crafting these laws simply to scare people out of buying guns. It's a good point. I think most gun accountability laws require you to have it kept in a safe at home while you're still free to carry it and leave it off your person when it public. If it gets stolen, your duty is to report that theft. Most state proposals I've seen absolve the gun owner of any liability if they promptly report it stolen.
