Greatest second album in rock history?

Some bands just need more time to get their own best songs in there...

    Led Zeppelin II
In my expert opinion, this comes down to Zep II and Nevermind. Hard for me to say which was more influential...Zep II basically was the blueprint for an entire genre of music and Nevermind is the most important rock record of the past 30 years. I went with personal taste for the tie breaker.

    Some notable honorary mentions...

    The Band - The Band
Countdown to Ecstasy - Steely Dan
Freewheelin' Bob Dylan (not really a rock record though)
    Rolling Stones - 12 x 5
Rumors - Fleetwood Mac (they basically were a whole new band in 1975 just with the same name)
    Imagine - John Lennon
    Odelay - Beck

I've got an 8-track, and I'm not afraid to use it.

    That's a great album

The queen of diamonds let you down,
She was just an empty fable
The queen of hearts you say you never met
Your twisted fate has found you out
And it's fin'lly turned the tables
Stole your dreams and paid you with regret

Breaks my heart you didn't vote for NY. Cowgirl in the Sand, Cinnamon Girl and Down by the River all one one record? The Eagles couldn't hold Neil's jock strap for 10 seconds.

Is there some big line of people anxious to hold Neil's jock strap?

Neil Young - Everybody Knows this is Nowhere
Dirt would win, but they released at least one EP between facelift and dirt. Maybe two I can't remember for sure.

Ride the lightning would win, but I didn't feel like voting for it.

Many good candidate albums on the list, but I'm going with Neil because fuck this board and the generic frat boy fucktard tastes that pervade it.

He's banging Darryl Hannah so there's that...but she's bat shit crazy and about 25 years past her stale date.

She can't get even arrested in Hollywood anymore since Beatrix snatched out her other eye. Still not bad looking though.

The Eagles are the ultimate Revelation 3:16 band. I don’t love, nor hate them.

An EP isn’t a LP though.

That's too bad, as Hotel California is the mostest perfect album ever recorded

    It's damned close.

Personally I like The Tubes Completion Backwards Principle.
