I want to join @Swaye in saying I’m actually not invested in whether or not @2001400ex donates. It’s his right to not donate if he wishes (same with anyone here).
This whole discussion did however make me curious as to why people give to the site while others don’t. Leaving issues of if someone can actually afford it aside, behavioral economists, social scientists, etc. have been looking into philanthropy (I’m not saying HH is a charity, don’t twist, but it’s yearly cash grabs do help Derek with the server costs, etc.) and here’s some of their findings:
A few of the points that jumped out at me RE: the givers’ motives were:
- receiving tax write offs (duh...and not applicable to HH) - getting feel good “highs” from being generous (HH is a helluva drug) - feeling like they were contributing to a fight, especially when supporting a political issue/campaign (Join the Husky Half Brain Revolution!) - in competition with others (That asshole has a Butler Cabin badge, well, sign me up for the Wam!) - trying to be included in of something someone they admire does (Well I donated, it’s like I’m practically a TSIO co-host!) - attempting to get out of some societal pressure/ease conscience, often the case with religious organizations (I gave my tithe, now I can sleep in on Sunday)
I forgot where I was going with that...just thought the article was chinteresting.
Since when is getting stoned drunk, chanting and running naked around a bonfire - like I do with @Swaye - considered a "gay thing?" Don't be homophobic.
Robert's Rules of Order, on the other hand, is gay AF.
Hell...limit non-contributors to 5 poasts a day or 2 new threads a day or so. That way they can still contribute, but they can't SPAM the boards the way HondoFS does...

I always knew you were a communist at heart. Rationing posts FTW!
Dear Hondo Personally, I don’t cair much whether you donate. And I don’t want you banned. But you’re struggling this morning. Take @doogsinparadise as a cautionary tale. Trump broke him after the election and @doogsinparadise chose to display his meltdown here. It wasn’t a good look.
Maybe take some tim away to heal. Or not, keep splattering your pain all over the boreds.

Hopefully the rest of the flock will prison rape and peck you to death.
Allegedly.

Do I have a second?

I could care less.
