But you’ll never assign blame to capitalism. If something bad happens within a thousand miles of communism, it’s communism’s fault. Castro kills a bunch of people and communism bad but steal land from Native Americans and genocide them? All of the sudden it’s complicated and the economic system that demanded the land be taken, well, what’s that got to do with anything.
Here's what I think:
1. There is an interesting academic discussion to be had about Marxism. A small amount of what you have said would be relevant in that discussion.
2. The most charitable read of communism is that it's a concept well before its time. That is, there may be a day when technology and human-knowledge is such that we have essentially eradicated scarcity w/o the need for market forces, are able to allocate resources perfectly, again w/o market forces, and basic human culture has evolved to a degree such that some of the basic individual motivators for innovation and value creation are not longer important and thus no longer ... given effect. My read of Marxist theory is more along those lines. If it ever happens, we probably won't really connect it back to Marx and it will be so long from now that it's really just good academic discourse ... exercise for the mind.
3. This isn't the place to have that kind of discussion.
4. As a practical matter, it's a waste of time to defend because it has failed so miserably. -
