I’m not even that worried, really. You guys forget that we have a very talented walk-on in Ben Hines. He should be able to replicate what Kaho was going to be for us.

Rob Moseley is the same way. Every year he has a new pet walk on who will make some “impact plays”. Whites just love walk ons

Disagree. You let go do his thing. It's not like Kaho was really going to make a difference this year anyways. I know the TBS addicts think otherwise. It is a loss, but it won't be felt this year. The program is always bigger than one guy.

Go to bama. He may see the field in 2 years. Either way he isn't playing this year anywhere. Daddy isn't very good at business. Should have pulled him this summer to let the bidding continue. Now I could see a team like bama saying whatever. Come if you want, or don't. We have 4 other 5* LB

Right on cue. Dawgman releases an article this morning about how Kyler Manu is ready to carve out a pivotal role this year and how he brings the size/thumper mentality that Azeem had. Christ.

Could not even believe what I was reading. You wanna believe Kyler Manu will be an okay player one day? Sure, whatever. But they literally said he's an Azeem Victor style replacement. what idiots lol

Maybe he isn't alpha enough to carry the weight of being the highest rated recruit ever for a top five coach. You can't read his name locally and not see "highest rated recruit for Petersen ever" or Five star LB". Between family stuff and the mantle of "best ever" he freaked, lost weight and just wanted to blend in and ball out at a blue blood. If that's the case GTFO. If not and its a case of homesickness I hope he waits it out and comes here to play. The kid is an awesome talent that I really want to see play at UW.

Pete doesn’t get to choose schools he can transfer to. One, the NCAA rules changed and Two, this is the exact same thing as what happened with Addison 21 days ago.

It’s an interesting issue - that a school gets to choose the kids path. If anything, hope the kid gets better menatally and phyicallly!

Only if it's because he didn't get the class in and doesn't qualify at UW. If he didn't get the class in then yes.

If he didn't get the class in then no.

    There are conflicting reports.

But even so UCLA released Addison, they didn't have to.
So what you're saying is if he didn't get the class it's a yes no?

    Chintresting............

Fuck it. Give him a full release. He did have a few family members pass away and if he needs to be closer to home so be it. If all this smoke turns out to be more than that, I hope he goes to Oregon. Pete isn’t going to run the ball when we’re? up 30 this year. Let’s beat them by 50 again, put 7-8 more players in the NFL while Oregon is working on flex Friday, and let the NCAA put 2 and 2 together.

Again, the course he needed to pass was completed. This much we know. Also straight from the NCAA.org PDF:

Once a player signs an LOI, he cannot be recruited by any other schools and he is obligated to attend the school he signs with. If he doesn't enroll, he can't enroll anywhere else without first sitting out a year. If he enrolls at another school which recruited him, he has to sit out another year as well under NCAA regs (and this is in addition to the one year NCAA penalty for transfer).

In other words, a player who signs an LOI had better be sure he wants to attend that school because that's where he's going to attend unless the school decides to let him out of his LOI by granting a release.

    EXACTLY

Which is why the only school is grant a release to was Nevada to satisfy the whole “family reasons” angle. Any other school at this point is BS and tied to Pops getting paid.
maybe he failed the class? lol who knows

went to great lengths to go to uw when bama sc byu didnt req that class

    strange all around
Yea, could be that simple. Doesn't seem to really add up from that angle either. If it was as simple as that ask for your release and go to Bama or SC. A family member (while asking for anonymity) went to both the local and Seattle media and leaked the story. They wanted that info out there. Why not just say he didn't get in if that is the story or wait to get your release, which Pete would have to do regardless? Seems like it would be easier to go to a school not named BYU or Nevada in that case.

Azeem was basically a non factor last year ... so if comparing Manu to last year Azeem they would likely be accurate
I assume they are talking about 2016 pre-injury azeem.

This really fucking blows...now way around it. BUT seems like a pretty cut and dry case of WDWHA and not in a Doog way. If he's legit emo, he's not going to be worth a shit to anyone for a year or two. If it's fucked up bagman shit we don't want that and one can only hope there's a way to expose the evil doers.

I don't think we're dealing with the top of the academic society here. There likely wasn't much forethought put in to the story or leak.

At the end of the day, if the dude really wants to go elsewhere, or his dad is going to be such a pain that he's not happy at UW anyway then just move on. He can join tate martell as the most likely to never crack the 2-deep on any roster, transfer 3 times and all end up back in Nevada
I don't know if I buy the angle really but for the record Reno's education system is absolute dreck. Like worse than Alabama type bad. If I remember correctly they had the highest rate of illiteracy for a long time and were consistently ranked the worst in the nation. From my own experience I have quite a few adult friends from there and their academis abilities are usually on par with an average middle schooler(at best). I can only imagine if you are a star football player the kind of turnstile your classes could have been if they needed to help along your eligibility.
