A lot of the old follows are Oregon it seems tho. -
I think he read this thread and stopped. Went from 1,001 down to 872. Nothing of note.GrundleStiltzkin said:

None of you fags will convince me that he is coming here. I will NOT fall for it again. Ups and downs, walks on the beach, yoga and Zoloft.

Kwiatkowski is UW's OG DC. He was Petersen's DC going all the way back to Boise State and Boise State always had great defenses as well relative to the talent they had to work with. Lake picked up where Coach K left off but he's only responsible for calling plays last season. Coach K is the mastermind who turned UW into a program known for playing good defense again and he's not going anywhere. If or when Lake leaves for a head coaching job, Coach K will still be here to step back up as the play caller and do what he's always done. Nothing will change.greenblood said:
I completely agree. And I think 80%-90% of that is Jimmy Lake. He’s a year or two away from a head coaching gig.StrongArmCobra said:
No you stupid FUCK! The difference is UW has proven beyond a shadow of a fucking doubt that they reload on defense better than any team in this fucking conference.lawsandl said:
The difference imo is that you lose more. It’s a lot more on defense. I am not saying that Oregon becomes an elite team. I think Oregon makes a bigger jump.Domicillo said:
It’s amazing how you can argue the concept of Oregon having better, younger players in your depth, but can’t comprehend that everyone is telling you the same damn thing about our team, ya Idot.lawsandl said:
Do you really think Jelks, Hollins and Amadi made the defense? For fuck’s sakes you’re a broken record. This will be the first year in 4 where Oregon returns the HC and both coordinators. This is the first season where they can build on something.StrongArmCobra said:
Your QB regressed as his Junior year progressed. He had one reliable target to throw to and now that guy is gone. That was a veteran Oregon team that got blown out by Arizona and WSU and ran all over by Utah and their back up RB and QB. Zero proven receivers returning. A defense that regressed from Leavitt's first season and was ranked #55 in the country in total defense. That defense lost three of it's best players: best DB in Amadi, best edge rusher in Hollins, and best D-lineman in Jelks. Oregon is fucking repeating UW's Sark era perfectly except with even more unwarranted and undeserved hype followed by disappointment and mediocrity. During the Sark era, UW was able to play above their heads and upset a team that was better than them from time to time (#3 USC in Sark's first season) but there was always a huge drop off playing on the road compared to at home and they had problems playing against certain match ups (No huddle, Uptempo spread offenses). Oregon managed the big upset win over UW at home, but there was a big drop off on the road, and they struggled against certain match ups (Undersized, fast, single-gap penetrating D-lines of Arizona and WSU). It's like deja vu. Looking forward to watching the Oregon mediocrity and meltdowns continue.lawsandl said:
We lose 4 on defense in the two deep.Baseman said:
1 us?lawsandl said:
Context is king. I was responding to the poster about losing a WR. UW is losing a qb and rb. Also, these two statements aren’t contradictory. OREGON LOSES LESS THAN WASHINGTON!Domicillo said:lawsandl said:
Schedule is in UW’s favor. However, UW loses a QB and RB and a lot more on defense. There’s many publications echoing the same sentiment.ntxduck said:
Washington’s schedule (Oregon at home) compared to Oregon’s (Stanford usc and Washington on the road) make Washington the favorite. And we (?) still don’t have any proven receiverslawsandl said:UW_Doog_Bot said:For the record Gaskin outran Ahmed straight up when they raced.
You can claim "game speed" differences but
All those starters that came in fourth in the division last year? Seems unstoppable.lawsandl said:
It’s really simple. We return all but 4 starters and get an infusion of talent. Likewise, looks like Cristobal is making a home run hire at WR coach. UW probably falls off a bit. It’s on paper but I am not making this shit up.RaceBannon said:
Off season natty confirmedlawsandl said:Oregon is pretty much favored next year. That and give Mario another class like this and it’s game over.
I didn’t say Oregon will be unstoppable. The fourth place argument is a bit disingenuous considering the margins were very thin last year. When you look at who’s returning what, Oregon is the favorite. However, I still expect thin margins.
Do you have two separate mouths or just are able to talk out of your asshole too?lawsandl said:
Herbert’s regression has more to do with injuries and depth.StrongArmCobra said:
They got worse as the season went on with a QB who's a projected top-10 pick. Herbert regressed in his third year and lost his only reliable target to throw to. Ducks were gargling Leavitt's nuts after his first year and said Oregon's defense would be one of the best if not the best in the conference last season. Oregon's defense got worse and ranked #55 in the nation in total defense. Oregon lost three of their top defensive players from that defense in Jelks, Hollins, and Amadi. How will they get better without those guys when they got worse with them.lawsandl said:
Oregon is learning to win again. Talent helps and a defense that doesn’t need the offense clicking to play well. The defense stepped up at the end of the year and will be better next year.HFNY said:I like their DC and OL. I'm not really a Herbert fan and think their fans are undervaluing what DJ Mitchell and the defensive losses brought to the table.
I don't think Herbert will play well in Husky Stadium and will face an improved pass-rush to boot.
Btw, is Cristobol on FSU's list if Willie craps the bed again?
Do you really think losing 4 players in the two deep (including Apelu) on defense is going to cause regression? We will be better in every unit.
4 you
We lose 1 on offense.
Jelks and Hollins will be replaced with DJ Johnson and Kayvon Thibodeaux. However, the slack will be picked by Scott, Faoliu and three seniors that improved over the season in Cumberlander, Baker and Carlberg. They actually will be able rotate on the line and at OLB, with Winston and Adrian Jackson.
Also, this is the first year in a long time that Oregon can go two deep at corner, Holland is an absolute fucking stud at safety and Pickett will be a junior.
ILB will finally have some depth and where Oregon fans don’t have to cross their fingers about injuries and rely on walk ons.
I am not worried about WR. A good position coach, Addison whom coaches rave about, a grad transfer and incoming studs in this class can change that unit around quickly. Besides, this year we can build on the scheme, add to the TE unit and return running backs.
2014: #2 defense in the conference
2015: #1 defense in the conference
2016: #1 defense in the conference
2017: #1 defense in the conference
2018: #1 defense in the conference
DO YOU SEE A FUCKING TREND HERE YOU FUCKING RETARD? No matter who UW has lost on defense whether it's Danny Shelton, Hau'oli Kikaha, Shaq Thompson, John Timu, Marcus Peters, Azeem Victor. Keishawn Bierria, Kevin King, Sidney Jones, Budda Baker, Elijah Qualls, Joe Mathis, or Vita fucking Vea, they've still gotten statistically better the next season and still had the best defense in the conference. Having the #1 defense in the conference four years in a row has never happened before by the way. UW is making history right now. Deathrow reloads and now we have more overall talent and depth to work with on that side of the ball. What do the facts and the trend suggest is going to happen? We're still gonna have the best defense in the conference, again bitch.
In comparison, Oregon has not proven such an ability to sustain key players losses on defense, reload with quality talent, and get better. From 2017 to 2018, Oregon got statistically worse defensively. So your fucking hopes and dreams are just that, hopes and fucking dreams. The facts say UW is most likely to have the best defense in the conference again and on offense, replacing Jake Browning with Jacob Eason, Myles Gaskin with Salvon Ahmed, Drew Sample with Cade Otton, and Kaleb McGary with Jared Hilbers is an overall net positive change in talent, mostly because of the massive talent difference between Browning and Eason. When you undeniably have the best coaching staff in the conference at developing talent, you can feel good about the offense getting better with more overall talent to work with. You don't get to feel good about your offense when your offensive coordinators name is still Marcus Arroyo. -
From the Utah mod...
"I've been working as many people as I can, and it's hilarious. I had a Utah source reach out to me about Puka asking me what I've heard. I've been bugging Blair, who told me he's been talking to like 8-10 different sources, and everyone feels good about their chances and yet no one knows for sure what's going to happen." -
Update from the Utah mod...
"So, I got an update... I think, if he goes out of state it's UW and if he listens to mom's request of playing closer to home, it will be Utah. We'll all be in the dark until tomorrow night, Puka has sworn people to secrecy - one of which is our own, Blair Angulo - and said he won't even be telling coaches his decision beforehand." -
This shit is wild lol. I still think he's going to Oregon.

So has he set an announcement date & time? Sorry, I've been shoveling snow while pretending to like my neighbors.HuskyClaws said:Update from the Utah mod...

His most recent twitter follow is Juwan Johnson, the Penn State Grad Transfer WR who has been long rumored to Oregon. So maybe Puka and JJ go there and join the other 4-5 WRs they've signed in this class lol.
Anytime you have a chance to join a recruiting class with 900 receives instead of one that has one and a bunch of bums on the roster behind him, you just gotta do it (I guess?). -

This board tomorrow. -
He's now following something by the name of Drew Faoliu.
He apparently plays on the Oregon football team. -
Once he set a wack-ass commitment time and started following multiple Oregon players, you knew he was going to Oregon.Domicillo said:Once he decided to postpone his NSD commitment and his mom took it upon herself to do a full article for Angulo, you knew he was going to Oregon.
Once he didn’t immediately post his Oregon visit pictures like he did with every other school, you knew he was going to Oregon.
Once his mom questioned not going on the UW visit and then Pete never went on an in-home after the visit, you knew he was going to Oregon.
Once he was the 50th Oregon WR to be offered with only three weeks left to go and we magically found out that Oregon was also his childhood dream school, you knew he was going to Oregon.
Once he said he wasn’t signing with USC on ESD and was going to explore his options but he insisted he was still committed to USC, you knew he was going to Oregon.

What a colossal flop. UW has a massive advantage over Oregon here. Just ridiculous.

If he goes to Oregon... not really sure about that. Let’s not forget we just hired a guy in junior Adams that didn’t close the deal.jhfstyle24 said:What a colossal flop. UW has a massive advantage over Oregon here. Just ridiculous.

Yes, as having no time didn’t hurt his chances of closing the deal...DawgFader said:

He’s been around longer than the Oregon WR coach.
-
I think the only hire we could’ve made to come in and close Puka in that amount of time is Tee Martin. And even then, based off what we know about his recruitment, I don’t know if even Tee would’ve been a guarantee.DawgFader said:

Ever since seeing Puka at the Poly bowl, thought he was too free spirited for Petersen. He just didn’t seem like a good fit up there. He likes to have fun.jhfstyle24 said:What a colossal flop. UW has a massive advantage over Oregon here. Just ridiculous.
