I bolded it so you idiots could get the point.
People are stupid. Also, thanks Larry Scott FS and FS Pac 12 ADS/marketing departments. It's why kids are leaving the WC in droves.
THIRTY PERCENT OF OUR FOUR+ STARS LEAVE THE REGION.
THIRTY.
If this isn't a fucking crisis, I don't know what the fuck is.
If an sec kid doesn't go to the home town school he and his family are shamed forever.
When kids from the West leave everyone says shit like "he's just gotta do what's best for him"
You are an ASU fan. You wouldn’t understand.
Huh
I'm saying the fans suck out west and let kids leave pac land
"You play to win the game" " Why is knowledge" that's why kids leave the pac-12 lol. Incompetence starts from the top (Hi Larry) and works its way down to every basically every AD and coach in the conference.
I don't need your teenage philosophy
The pac sucks because the entire south part of the conference decided to be shitty at the same time.
And Stanford being good throws everything way out of whack
How do you get good players? Wow by relating to teenagers!!1!!

I've been saying this shit for years. It is never good when Alabama or Oklahoma beats out USC or UCLA for a Cali recruit. Not only for conference perception but for the size of the pool we are recruiting in.
Also every kid that goes to Bama from Cali or Hawaii makes it easier for the next kid faced with that decision and from Bama's perspective makes it a better value proposition for them to expend resources out West.

The dearth of non white head coaches in college football requires cultural appropriation white head coaches who coach fast strategy Black players better than the rest. Why this is needed is a discussion for another time. This post will deal with the reality we face.
The white fast strategy coach is like a Black coach in that he is known as a "great recruiter" who "rolls the ball out and lets them play". Maybe not a great Xs and Os coach but relates to the kids and is a players coach. Often know for swaggy behavior that is embarrassing to adults but the kids really like it.
You have your fast strategy white coaches who can't seem to win anything like Lane Kiffin or Rick Neuheisel but getting mentioned by Lil Wayne should at least get Kiffin honorable mention. Kliff Klingsbury is on the hot seat.
Who is on Mount Rushmore?
Jimmy Johnson
The GOAT. He finished the work that Schnellenberger started in turning a sleepy white Miami University into the center of hip hop, recruiting violations, and championship football by recruiting anyone that could play regardless of academics or criminal record with a promise of a fast track to the NFL. He enjoyed beating the blue bloods and the whitest of the white Notre Dame got his particular scorn.
Barry Switzer
Barry is second because Jimmy beat him like a rented mule. Not many others could say the same. Barry took over OU when Chuck Fairbanks left to Colorado and Barry ended up hanging 84 on old Chuck. Barry took all the best players from under Darryl Royal's nose and beat him with them. Barry knew Sooner fans wanted national titles or else and coached and recruited accordingly. He played Black quarterbacks earlier than most.
Bobby Bowden
Bobby said he made it a point to never drive past the players parking lot. Bobby knew he had to beat Miami. Bobby turned FSU into Miami.
John McKay
People forget that McKay started a Black QB in the 60's as well as a double murderer Heisman winner.
Bill McCartney, Don James, and others were among those solid white coaches who went fast strategy late to get an elusive National Title. Chris Petersen may be the next one
Dont even know where you were going with this race. Sorry but for lack of a better word this is stupid.
Hey I'm race I watched college football back in the day like Pup and 2, but what are u fucking talking about? BTW, Rick won a rose bowl. This program really needed one. Kiffin doesnt belong in same sentence. The legends you speak of were great coaches but just ain't seeing point of post...but what a new?
Go ahead and take the rest of the night year off.
Base you've already taken the year off, the only one you've been at HH.
Seems the odds are that if Dabo stays at Clempson for a while longer, he will win another NT. 2 NTs at Clempson (i.e., Tier II school) would have to get a coach into Mt Rushmore consideration would it not?
Yep if they (we?) have learned anything from blowing '14 not playing Deshaun up front and play Trevor Lawrence from the get-go, they are odds on favorites. And they are recruiting just as well as Bama.
Dabo is a clown, but holy shit: results.
Going into the Syracuse locker room post L and congratulating them is a douche canoe clown as it gets. Fuck off with that shit. Still, the results are there. You win a Natty in the CFP era at a Tier II school - albeit one with high ceiling - something about your program is working.
Pete needs to incorporate two Dabo things to get to Dabo's level: fun and openness.
Dabo keeps high standards and he does not fuck around with assistant coaches. He creates an atmosphere where he would NEVER protect under-recruiting white dudes. He needs everyone to be great at everything and he demands it.
I have a lot of respect for the way he's done it. Dabo is weird, but he's a fast-strategy guy and he's tuned in with the fast-strategy kids. Chris Petersen has a great personality, but his bullshit tight-ass routine is fucking pointless.
Dabo is open as shit and is winning Natties.
None of our media members have the balls to ask Pete about the fact that literally every other program has a big spring game. We just suck our own dicks and tell ourselves it doesn't matter.
Pete would win a natty in his fifth year if he was at South Carolina. The demographics are just better
Exactly. The West Coast has no natural recrootin' advantage over the SEC other than QB and Polys.
Polys are demographically superior to blacks on a per capita football playing basis. There's just not nearly as many of them in the West as there are blacks int he south.
Wasnt asking you dnc, we know you were listening to depeche mode and madonna cassettes with your social leper crowd on Saturdays at 12:30 in the beddy room back then....stay outta it

ACC has 2 NTs in the past decade. Pac 12 has 0.
That’s because the PAC 12 is such a tough conference that the teams beat each other up. If those teams had scheduled Rutgers, Portland St, and Fresno State like UW, I doubt they would have won any titles.

I don't buy this at all. This shit is getting out of hand with the demographics shit. There are more black people, but there are also 3x the amount of schools recruiting them.
The reason why the Pac-12 sucks is because USC is down and our brand is killing us, so like 30% of good players are leaving the west whereas only 5-7% leave the south.
And Pete wouldn't win shit at South Carolina. USC is like winning at Cal. He would get them good, but never Natties.
I'm so sick of this fucking one-factor thinking. Oh they have a lot of talent there. YEAH BUT THEY HAVE MORE TEAMS SHIT FOR BRAINS.
In 2015-16 the top 4*+ talent producing states were
TX: 59.5 CA: 54.5 FL: 45.5 GA: 33 OH: 22.5
But here are the amounts of P5 schools in-region (overlapping conference ties or adjacent states):
So, basically even though there are more players in the south, the competition is much more fierce. It gets even heavier if you consider the amount of tier 1 and 2 teams within a 550 mile radius of primary population centers (this is the length you need to connect UW to LA.
Near CA: (3-4) UW, UCLA and USC (Oregon?).
Near to TX: (8-9) A&M, Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, LSU, Arkansas, Iowa and Bama (Wiscy just out of range; Colorado sucks, but maybe?).
Near to FL: (12) FSU, UF, Miami, UGA, Bama, Auburn, Clemson, Tennessee, LSU, VTech, Ohio State, A&M
Near to GA: (14) FSU, UF, Miami, UGA, Bama, Auburn, Clemson, Tennessee, LSU, VTech, Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, Notre Dame
Near to OH: (15) Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Iowa, Tennessee, Auburn, Alabama, Arkansas, VTech, FSU, UF, UGA, Clemson
So - the teams in the south are competing with 3x the big time programs (or more) on average.
There are no fucking excuses.
Way too many words and numbers Dennis. Jimminy Christmas!

Very true. Watch the first 30 for 30 and you get the distinct impression that Jimmy was able to relate to those kids. That whole thing with their prez at the time? That was real shit, not made-for-TV dram. Tad Foote made Gerbs look like a community college dropout. Dude was all academis all the time, he liked Miami lilly white, and had much, much different aspirations for the school than what came to pass. I loved the quote by, I think, Randall Hill: "we put this mother fucker on the map. you don't like us now, then to hell witcha!"
Jimmy was no stranger to poor white trash and thus related MUCH more readily to blick inner city than to Tad "Ivy League" Foote. Foote and Johnson fucking HATED each other. The kid knew Foote didn't want them there, and loved Jimmy for being with them. Remember, the U is not in the hood. It's in fucking Coral Gables.
The thing that gets too often overlooked about Jimmy were his technical coaching skills. He made a few blunders as a HC during his time at Miami, one of which cost them the national championship in 86. But Jimmy was as good as they come on the D side of the ball. He may have learned it from someone else, but he is to be credited with changing the way you play D by focusing on speed and quickness at positions where the focus up the then was entirely on size and strength. Compare Jimmy for Switzer for a minute. In the end, the key difference comes down to this: Jimmy had an answer for Barry's offense. Barry had no answer for Jimmy's defense.
That, and he could find talent under a rock. He found Cortez, Russell Maryland, Steve Walsh ... not everyone on those teams was highly recruited. I think next to nobody wanted Maryland, and he found Kennedy playing at a JC in Arkansas with hardly any other programs interested. And what he did in Dallas with the Walker trade - the players he got in the 2nd and 3rd round for what seemed like an eternity - is an all-time move. The guy can spot a player and rarely misses.
Osborne was actually who I meant when I put McCartney in honorable mention as a white coach who went to the fast side to win a title. Osborne is the poster boy for that
He could go 11-2 in his sleep with roided out white boys but he had to go fast strategy to beat the Florida schools and Oklahoma
He doesn't make the mount because he just did it at the end like our own Don James

Yeah, but boy did he finish skrong. 2.5 NT's to James' and Promise Keeper's .5 NT's each. And he was at fucking Nebraska so the distance to FS recruiting country was even mor that Switzer at Oklahomo.

Jimmy Johnson, Bowden, Spurrier and Switzer.
John McKay should probably get a plaque because he taught the Bear about the value of the fast, dark skinned ones.
