I give Paul Arnold somewhat of a pass. His back just couldn't take it IIRC

Of course. No one's saying it's his fault. But his college career was a big disappointment by any measure. I'm sure he would agree.

Didn’t Arnold commit to CU then flip when Neu came to UW?

Paul Arnold for sure. And he was how I found dawgman, Reggie Williams was the reason I signed up for it.

I went to watch PA’s last HS game. Doogin

The gym at Kennedy has an area in the trophy case dedicated to Paul Arnold. It takes up a lot of space because we? don't have any football state championship trophies.
That game in particular was a first round or quarterfinals loss to Mariner... Mariner ferfucksakes. Arnold was hurt but still had 150 or so rushing.

    You sure?

I thought Neu flipped at least a verbal commit to CU that was from Seattle when he jumped ship.

Maybe it was (is) the weed and booze.

No, Arnold picked UW over Ucla. Colorado, Michigan and Notre Dame were eliminated prior to his final two.

Our 1992 class completely fucked our program. We had so many talented guys in that class... and in the end it was fucking Dave Janoski who was left standing. Look at the Jesse Callier rankings vs. (retro) star-ratings for that class... it hurts.

    QB Ted Stark (4* - JC1)
    RB Toby Brookins (4* - JC1)
    WR Jason Shelley (5* - JC1)
    WR Theron Hill (4* - JC1)
    WR Dave fucking Janoski (3* - JC3)
OL Joe Wells (4* - JC1 - transferred to fucking Oregon)
OL Lynn Johnson (3* - JC3 - he sucked, tho)
    OL Brad Brozaitis (4* - JC1)
    OL Bob Sapp (4* - JC4)
    DL David Richie (3* - JC3/4)
    BUCK Hernan Santiago (3* - JC1)
    BUCK Curtis Bogan (4* - JC1)
    LB Ink Aleaga (4* - JC4)
    DB Lawyer Milloy (4* - JC5)

Jesus fucking Christ. That class still breaks my heart. It was small because the NCAA reduced football schollies from 95 to 85, so we were downsizing. We had just won the *-Natty and most of these guys were big time. Biggest misses were Amani Toomer and Rashaan Salaam. Ugh.

    Positive.

Neu had contact with his former Colorado players after he jumped ship, and got in trouble for that. Because of it he had to a) promise not to recruit any Colorado commits b) promise not to accept any transfers from former Colorado kids. When he took Taylor Barton a year or two later he had to self sanction an extra scholarship since Barton as one of the CU kids at the time.

Just another example of UW tripping all over itself to make life more difficult on us than any other school ever.

Didn't that Mariner team have Teo Johnson and Amon Gordon? They both ended up transfering to San Diego for their senior seasons and then played at Stanford. Not your typical Wesco white bread team.

Fuck that UW Cop who chased down Jason Shelly and got him booted from the team.
Still some solids in that class. Bob Sap was a beast at pulling guard. Ink was very good. And Lawyer redefined the position

Jake Browning, Paul Arnold (I worked with a woman who had kids at Kennedy back then and bought into the hype), Locker (he wasn't some yuge bust, just didn't have good coaching or a good supporting cast), that wideout in the late 90s who was really fast. Hooker maybe?

Uh, Arnold ran his 1st kickoff back for a TD. Although too soft for tb, had a decent career here at WR. Come on billy
