Not with that attitude, we won't. I fail to see why a pension system that I have put tons of money into since I was 15 should not provide the pension I paid for.
Have you seen how government works? It's a bunch of broke dicks fucking everything up. SS is basically an insolvent program thanks to government incompetence for 50 years. We can all sit around and dream they fix it, but my money is on continued fuckupery and the program being basically tits up in 20 years. Fuck the government. They couldn't manage a whorehouse.
Actually SS still brings in more money than it pays out and has since it was started. In a few years it will tilt the other way, but there's like 50 years or whatever of surpluses in the program.
Except they loan that shit out to the US gubmint like Kerry Killinger on a bender.

Social Security is not a pension.
    A defined benefits retirement isn't a pension?

Is this one of those GOP fun-with-semantics games like "the US isn't a democracy"?
Social Security was designed to be Insurance.

Premised on the idea that people would take care of themselves first. And if you don't, here's enough for a ham sammich.
    sure.gif

So I want the ham sandwich I paid for when I retire. Why should I willingly allow the gummit to withdraw a benefit that I've been paying for over the last 30 years?
    Insurance. Not retirement planning.

I've paid a shit-ton of car insurance premiums over the years. That doesn't mean I will get to see any of it in return.

Now, with the benefit of compounding interest, imagine how many ham sammiches you would have if you put those same funds in a self-directed retirement account?

Instead the government has left you with a sammich. Probably no mayo.

Lol I live in fund accounting. That being said, while we can't see how they are recorded on the books of the government. Even if they did have a due from other funds account, there's no money in the other funds to pay it back. And will never be paid back. So in essence, they just spent the money on military, social programs and other bullshit. And kicked the can down the road.

I figured Hondo would jump for joy over another tax increase. Guess it's not really an increase. Time to trim those big fat welfare and SNAP roles by actually putting people to work instead of making people indentured democratic voters.
SNAP is like $70 billion a year. Peanuts compared to this tax cut. But perspective never has been your strong suit.
Cut the fraud in SNAP and other Housing programs and cut the fraud in Medicare and boom... you're at a surplus. SSN has nothing to do with Federal Income taxes collected. Only when the thiefs aka Congress try to steal from it.

An experienced, tenured auditor such as yourself should be aware of these things.

I don't even know why we pay into the system.
This. When we get to retirement age SS will be given out when you are 77 years old and it will be inflation adjusted for about 12 bucks in todays dollars. When you get your check, if you even live that long, you will be able to head to down McDonalds and get a meal, but the good news is you can probably afford to supersize it.
Fear not My Red fren... SSN is actually pretty healthy in the hear and How.

As long as Congress doesn't pilfer it. Of course it has been and never will be something to actually live a decent life on. Just something to help pay the property taxes and Med Supp insurance. If youre not saving yourself for retirement then enjoy staying at home with a trip to the park as being the highlight of the weak come retirement.

600 X 10 years = 6 Trillion dollars. The new tax plan projects much less deficit than that. But Hey all of you libtards are free to write a check back to good ol Uncle Sam if you end up paying less than you wanted to in taxes.

But given that you struggle with everything else, it's not so amazing that basic arithmetic should vex you.

God you're stupid. The new tax plan projects anywhere from 1-1.5 trill dollars have deficit spending over 10 years. Which since you're so fucking dense, it aches and you can't deduce on your own adds up to anywhere from 100-150 billion per year. Oregon alone paid close to 100 Million in fraudulent payments alone last year through their Oregon Health Plan that was funded by Medicare. That's one state and one program.

I took that as a surplus in Federal government, which is a about $600 billion deficit. If you meant just the tax bill, that's still $150 billion a year. Find that $150 billion. Show me the Carfax. Or Komo4.
