Who to hire at OC?

Get Bush. Alabama is proof that as long as you recruit, even a total fucktard OC can't keep you from winning (except when they forget to run the ball).

Jeff Horton is old and white. He's not even a real west coast guy. Saying we should hire him because he runs the ball is fucking retarded Post-Traumatic Jonathan Smith Disorder bullshit. We should have higher expectations than that.
We don't need an offense that runs the ball all the time, we need an OC that uses his personnel correctly, and plays to its strengths. This year, because we have dick at QB and WR, but a lot of talent at RB and a decent run blocking OL, the right thing to do would have been to run the ball.
Jonathan Smith didn't see that, because he's a fucking retard. The last thing we need is some old, set in his ways, equally retarded guy who is just gonna run the ball, even after we get some amazing QB and WR recruits in.
Like I said in the other thread, we need a smart OC who is adaptable, and knows how to gameplan. We don't need a particular offensive identity, we need to be able to adapt to different opponents, and adapt to the roster we have at any given moment.
Getting a young up and coming guy like Hamdan, who has worked with Pete and likely understands these things, would be the right move. If Hamdan isn't that guy however, let's find someone who is.
Jeff Horton can get fucked. Helfrich too. -
i want Bush

Smith was once a young up and coming guy... how did that work out? And whats wrong with old and white? Meyer and Saban are both old and white. So is Kawasaki.NorwegianHusky said:

No doubt the coach needs to play to the strengths of the players, but at the same time, the coach needs to recruit and develop the players to fit well in the team's overall philosophy.
Horton doesn't just run, but he runs a lot, and I like that. And he ran on Furd and ASU, in a year that we lost to both, and he probably did it with mostly 1 and 2 star recruits.
SDSU rushing: 3027 passing: 1895 (61% run yards 39% pass yards)
WASH rushing: 2278 passing: 2662 (46% run yards 54% pass yards)
Horton has also been a QB coach and knows the pass. I suspect he knows how to play to his player's strengths, but also knows how to develop the players to fit in the teams identity.
Hamden might be fine, I don't really know. He hasn't been an OC yet, and who knows if he wants to leave the NFL after 1 year.
