So Roof has finally switched her tune about Ford. The one WR she’s been adamantly saying she didn’t think would come here since he first took his visit back in September. I think her Twitter scuffle with him clouded her takes on UWs chances with him more than anything.
A twitter scuffle? With a recruit?
Anyone need further proof that Roof is flicking batty? A good recruiting reporter, perhaps. But cat lady batty.
She isn’t “a good recruiting reporter” she is just the best we have.

I nominate Coker.
Coker would be good except he's about to have his first taste of alcohol and then spiral out of control into a raging drug addict.

He’s got 3 weeks left. He could get to the bottom of this shit in that time no question.
Is her logic even sound? I see nothing that would suggest UW is any better of a position to get Ford. Am I missing something? What’s driving all the CBs for UW?

Which drives the obvious question...why the hell hasn’t he already? He needs to pull his shit together and get his priorities straight.
Oh geez why would anyone base their decision on whether or not a senior QB comes back or not that’s stupid. You have to look at the whole picture. And Eason, Sirmon, Yankoff, Morris, Huard is a lot more promising than Hebert, Burmeister, Shough, Millen. I know which group I would want throwing to me.
I believe Ford specifically mentioned Eason and the coaches alluding to a Chico type role (read: immediate need).
From that mind set of wanting to be an instant impact, losing Herbert could be nail in coffin for Oregon.
Also it's not like JT Daniels looked like Trevor Lawrence. The back up Sears was better and he's going to transfer because JT is the anointed one. SC is very shaky behind center too.

Does Coker actually call recruits, or does he just consult with Swaye’s spirit horse?

Well he sure as fuck can't put a pod together so I guess TBS reporting is his next logical career move.
Ford has been quoted multiple times (chew on that) saying:
- he loves the coaches and gives reasons (details) - he has lots of good friends on the team that tell him honest shit and he believes it - he can definitely see him playing at UW (within interviews that he keeps info very superficial for other schools except for UW - devils in the details) - he specifically touches upon Eason as "big arm and NFL bound" so he gives details about personnel and scheme. He does not do this for usc or Oregon IIRC. - blah blah blah...
Point is that you read between the lines you can plainly see that he's a SoCal kid looking for a reason, for justification, to leave and go out of state.
That's not easy for many reasons. Family and friends. Emotional attachment and history.
We can't have it both ways where we expect croots to easily leave home and come to UW and for Washington kids (like smalls currently and fozzy previously) to stay home and spurn out of state schools.
Lastly, I pointed out a long time ago that a tuitele interview was almost identical to a ford one. Superficial niceties to all schools and then all of a sudden unprovoked details about UW. Surprise.
Ford may ultimately stay home but things definitely point to UW.

Disagree. I think that los angeles is so spread out that usc and ucla simply don't engender the same loyalty as UW, where it's much more part of the fabric of the community. The only exception is when usc is rolling (i.e., a decade ago under Carroll). In terms of generating local loyalty from high school recruits, I think that UW is closer to nebraska than to usc.

What part of “no contact with minors” do you not understand?

Just my opinion.
You aren't wrong but I'd say it's partly that there's a lot more competition down here. In Seattle it seems like half the people that live there are either UW alumni or are related to someone who is.
Down here more than half the population are transplants from all over anyways. At any given time even when USC is rolling it's a small minority of people who are alumni or have ties to the school.
What USC DOES still have is mystique and blue blood status. Sure, they've sucked since Carroll left but that success is still in the current collective unconscious and during its heyday was the identity of LA football since there was no NFL. They've done just well enough recently to stay relevant and be thought of as "a step away" which sells to recruits just like it does at UW. To be the last piece that's the #hometownhero that brings your local school you grew up loving back to prominence and relevance is exactly the type of dream we all grow up with.
If we are beating USC in spite of all of that we've definitely turned a massive corner.
Fallen off a bit but in playoff years they sell out way more games than the Clippers have ever dreamed of. Also, more titles than the Clippers will ever have.
So does such a list exist that lists the top 10 or top 20 guys in the trinity league over the last 3-5 yrs? If said list did exist, where would I find it?
I like threads and I feel like a positive story could be extrapolated from these said lists.
