I'll never get the Locker hate, but for Christ's sake, if you've been paying any attention at all to the last three years then you know the whole fucking team would have been much better.
It's why I don't understand the Locker hate and why this is even really a question ...
Locker had all the tools necessary to be a good QB ...
He never really was in a great position from a development, coaching, or team position to grow into a truly elite level player.
I don't blame him one bit for walking away from the NFL ... if you aren't 100% in ... then you should be 100% out.
He had all the tools except he was not smart and he was not accurate. Both can be improved with coaching, but on some level he was lacking naturally in both those areas.
But the hate comes from allowing himself to be used to keep Ty
Very interested in your last comment ... please elaborate
I never hated him. That being said, when I interviewed 40 players from the 2008 team they told me about the organized coup to have Ty removed. Players went to Jake because they knew they needed him on board. And Jake refused to get involved. This was in January 2008. And the 0-12 season soon followed.

Are we still pretending Browning didn't have a massive break out season, ended the Oregon streak, ended the desert streak, had a 99 QBR in the biggest home game in 25 years, played injured and through intense pain the last 1/3 of the year, and broke or tied several Pac-12 records?
I can't tell if the Browning hate on here is serious or not. As a true junior this year I expect him to dominate.
O'Doyle rules.
Fuck we were right there! Because you were actually there this probably personalizes the anger, but I remember watching this drive thinking let's get the fuck out of this half and run the rock.
Just like the 1-yard interception in the super bowl, I put this play more on the coaching than Browning.
Agreed the play call was unnecessary, but Jake could have looked at Gaskin at got an easy first down, too.
As soon as it happened I punched the floor and said "ball game"
The reward of going 90 yards to get a score right b4 half (the drive started around the ten) was not worth the risk period end of story. Going in down 10-7 at half with the way our D was playing was the smart call.
If Jake looks Gaskin's way and catches it, he's still running.

Simple fact.
Case closed.
End of discussion.
