I hung out with Layne one evening and we drove to the Des Moines 7-11 together and sat in the car talking philosophy for a long while. Interesting guy.
Love Layne. I love Kurt, but the best live frontman from that era was Scott Weiland.
I'm on my broke phone, but google stp down live 1999. If you aren't feeling that, I don't know what to tell you.
Some would argue Weiland was from a different era, though I agree about live performance. Layne and Kurt were far more compelling songwriters and individuals though. And Cornell probably had the best voice of them all. Definitely has the best voice now...
Cornell is the best voice of the 90's, period. If you disagree you pick the 7-11 and I'll be there.
Agree. Best voice of the 80s is a tougher call. I'd probably go Axle but some say Steve Perry. I'm sure there are plenty of hairband noyds who would nominate there* own guy.
Edit: The right answer is probably Michael. I'm sure Spooge agrees.

They used to be my favorite. Not anymore though. I still like them better than Pearl Jam. Pearl Jam and their fans are awful.

Especially Nancy, not chunky Ann though she was fairly doable back in the day.
