In one of Layne's final interviews (could have been his last public one) he talked about how he had lost all his teeth, was under 100 pounds, and was shitting his pants all the time because his body wasn't working anymore. He was living in an apartment and no one ever saw him except his smack dealer.

This was 5 or 6 years before he finally died. Something about that has always stuck with me and bothered me.
