Carroll was better than Kelly in college and is better than him in the pros.
Fuck the 12s, but the Hawks will be fine
Yeah, Chip had USC level talent. Idiot.
Not sure how Chip matched up with Carroll head-to-head overall but in their last game Oregon beat the hell out of 'em and Carroll had no clue. And guess what - today's Seahawks are way more talented than today's 49ers. Let's check back two years from now.

You sound worried. Chip beat Pete the only time they faced in college.
Meanwhile: "Dec. 7, 2014 -- PHILADELPHIA -- A dominant defensive performance against Chip Kelly's high-powered offense even had Earl Thomas showing off his dance moves.
Russell Wilson threw two touchdown passes, ran for another score and the Seattle Seahawks stifled Philadelphia in a 24-14 victory over the Eagles on Sunday."
But, of course, Kelly had nothing to do with that loss.
I never disputed the part about Pete beating Chip in the pros. My post was disputing the part about college. Learn to read.

The 49ers roster is shit and Trent Baalke is clueless. I would be excited if I was a niners fan as Chip is a big step up from Tomsula but that roster isn't going to get turned around overnight.
Chip's first order of business should be to resign LeMichael to the practice squad and beg Baalke to draft DeForest Bucker with the 7th pick. Pair him up alongside Arik Armstead. Boom. NFC West champs year one.

Nah, first order of business is trading Hyde and Kap, bringing back Alton Smith, and getting into a feud with his GM.

The longer the Helfrich era goes the more people will give Chip credit for what he did. He was a HUGE upgrade over Bellotti who had Oregon humming along but nobody seriously though he was winning a national championship.
Just because all Oregon coaches beat us like a drum doesn't mean they are all the same.
Puppy's scoop has a little more curb appeal baze. Lurk around, get a feel for the place then post. See, puppy adds a little extra to think about besides just ripping off the obvious futtfuck

I wouldn't trade Carroll for Kelly at either level. Carroll's best teams at USC were vastly superior to anything to ever come out of Oregon, or the rest of the conference for that matter, with maybe a few exceptions. Same applies when comparing Pete at Seattle to Chip at Philly. No comparison.
Anti doog love for Chip can be a blinding thing. LIPO. He has a chance for redemption at SF, we'll see how this plays out over the next few seasons.
Your poast brings up an interesting philosophical question that has bugged me for years.
Doogs are well defined. But the pendulum swing in the anti-Doog direction, IMHO, has created an anti-Doog that is just as unreasonable in its over reaction on certain issues. Some of it is obvious pandering to the OG HHBs (see PurpleJ's humping of Race's leg, etc.), Explosive Love of Chip (who Pete betters in every dimension, ever, ever, ever), fake love of Oregon's ways, a deep pessimistic view that clouds all reason.
While I think its more understandable than the Doog way (because its based on experience and some modicum of logic and history not blind faith) it is just as.........extreme. Think Bizzaro vs. Superman.
What do we call this? It's not a pure HHB thing. HHB is reasoned and well lubricated. With due respect to whom I humbly call my friend, Sven, Boobs, etc, I do believe he defines that outlier. Valuable to the cause? Yes! But deserving of its own category I think.

Hey, it's Teddy the suck-up, right on cue! Sucking up to Race, yet again. Perfect! Can you piss alone, Teddy? Or does Race or J have to hold it for you?
