RB felt great. We(?) were back. That said, I don't remember feeling great about the program. I was still worried RN was the right guy long term. Who knew how bad it could/did get? Young, dumb and stupid.

I remember being mad that Miami finished 2nd, despite the fact that we beat them head-to-head and finished with the exact same record.

In fact, I was so pissed that it was the first time my teenager brain ever had the idea of getting on the internet to complain. I went online into chat rooms and bitched about east-coast bias and listened to a bunch of fags argue about why Miami shouldn't have lost to Washington and how Miami could have beat them easily if they played again.

I was all over the internet that day. If I close my eyes, I can still see comets raining down on a giant N as I waited endlessly for websites created by Geocities and Angelfire to load.

Probably true but they did beat them in Sept and that's how the game works.

I don't see how anyone could make an argument for it. Did Washington and Miami even have any common opponents that year? Or was it wild ass speculation based purely on Miami's margin of victory?

Miami would have clown stomped us in a playoff game. 1991 on the other hand...disagree

That's part of the game that makes college football great and frustrating and HARD. Don't have your shit together in September, it's going to cost you. I know Stanford feels that way this year.

I'd argue beating the Beavers when we did was equally as impressive as the Miami win. That was a GOOD (and ranked) Oregon State.

The Beavers were damned good. It was fun watching them destroy Notre Dame in the fiesta bowl.

You need a thread to remind you to get more firewater? You truly are a disgrace to your people.

I thought the whole sordid affair might make a good "story time with Swaye" but was too lazy to type it all. I am at my worst during the offseason. And most other times during the season as well.

Yup; the off-season sucks. I hate this bored this time of the year. Well, truthfully, I hate this bored at all times. It's just a bit more interesting when our coaches are blowing games and Smith is being his usual fucktarded self and @Dennis_DeYoung is posting epic rants.

OS would have beat anyone at the end of the year.

Big Game Bob should be sending us ? part of his natty (HA) ...

OS would have whopped OU's ass had they played.

And that victory should have been good enough to move us ? into 2nd place over The U.

That team was stacked. But really, night games gave Dennis trouble. Usually a bit too drunk to understand clock management.

It's funny you mention this. My boss mentioned today that people around the office have been telling her that I've been disappearing at times during the day and coming back and smelling like marijuana and alcohol. It caught me off guard, but I quickly recovered and talked my way out of it so smoothly that I swear to God for a moment I literally became Bill Clinton.

I was a pimple faced 7th grader at the time. I had no idea I would swear off watching Husky football just years later during Ty's first year. Didn't start watching again until 2008 (purely out of morbid curiosity). Dooged for fellow dude brah Sark in 2009. We were gonna get back to competin for Rose Bowls dammit! Now we seem just as far away from being baaaaaack as we did in 2009. It's all pretty damning. I fear that Husky football may never return.

the whole experience was better in those days, from the stadium to the jumbotron to the momentum swings to the band. I also did not care to watch small college ball in those days, but I did not then nor do I now care about pro football.

A week long fast, Peyote, and riding bare back on a horse through the Grand Canyon will do that.
