A thought re: the Seahawks

As someone who is known for mercilessly trolling Seahawks fans, I have to admit that this franchise isn't going anywhere. You've built a winner based on a tuff defense and running game, and you have the loudest fans in the nation. There is a waiting list for season tickets and everyone expects a winner. That combination of fan support and pressure on the front office to produce means that the Seahawks may have a down year or two, but will ultimately be in the title race for years to come. That type of thing doesn't just disappear overnight.

Sincerely,

The Washington Huskies

Such fag, J. That said, this run is over, and possibly the franchise as a whole.

I still like their odds of reaching the playoffs this year, believe it or not.

Me too. The timeline sets up perfectly for 0-16 in, say, 2030.

I want to believe. And I do think it's a huge overreaction to say it's all over. This season might be a lost one though. What pisses me off is that the Seahawks really aren't that bad. They were up two scores against two undefeated teams the past two weeks.

This season is leaning towards a lost season ...

Egos have gotten involved in my mind and some of the players have lost a bit of the chips on their shoulder that got them to where they were.

I expect some sizable changes in the offseason but the core will ultimately be the ones that drive next year. There will be some new and fresh infusion of players in that will be hungry to be winners.

My gut tells me that this is Petey's last year.

I don't think Pete wants to go out known as the guy who made the worst play call in sports history. He wants one more Superbowl with the team he built from the ground up. This season might be lost but the team is still relatively young. The biggest issue going forward IMO is that Russell Wilson hasn't progressed enough to be worth that $21 million a year cap hit. He needs to get it going fast.

I know you're being sarcasmic, but no fucking chance he's leaving Paul Allen's checkbook and the system he's established in Seattle to go rebuild somebody. Pete does things too differently from the rest of the league, even if a good team moves to LA it's not going to be the team Pete wants.

    Coach stays until he retires.

    :)

Unlike the Dawgs, I don't think the Hawks' management will purposely try to destroy them.

I hate being a Hawk Doog but the combined record of their losses is 19-3 with two losses in OT and two others in the fourth quarter.

IF their OLine improves at all and Bevelle doesn't remain a moron - big ifs - they'll make the playoffs.

In fact the more likely scenario would be Schneider going to the Pack.

    Far far more likely

This team reminds me a little of the '04 team. Expectations were really high and they barely got to 9-7. There were some whiners on that team.

But, then he'd have to live in Green bay... In a dying market... without the richest owner in sports... and the freedom to do WETFHW

    Talk if executives leaving ...

    Kinda odd.

Paul Allen is one of the best owners in the NFL

    Why would someone leave?

I didn't say it would happen, I just said it's far more likely than Carroll leaving the Seahawks. Schneider *might* go the Pack in the same way that we thought Mora *might* come to UW. Leaving a better job for a worse one just because you love the worst one. It's not likely, but it could happen. There's no chance Carroll leaves for anything but retirement.
