Could be. I think it was more of his decision than the family though. the parents were way bigger on education and he is going to a football factory coach at a party school. Just my two cents.
I kinda understand the family thing, but every indication seemed like he was a lock. The best recruit left on the board (that we had a legit shot at), who plays a critical position, commits to UA instead. WTF?
Says UW was the leader last week when he announced the commitment date, had a wonderful visit, Petersen even put out a tweet saying #mahalo and then one conversation with UA's coaches changed everything. If this is true, this is a colossal fuck-up.
Lars did say that his family is undecided about him taking official visits at this point, so Petersen better be renting out a hotel room in Hawaii with a bunch of uniforms and a hype vid if he has any hope of flipping this disaster around.
I always like the thought of highly regarded lineman committing to UW, but I don't find myself caring too much about this. It would be two-three years before this guy even sniffed the field. I'm more concerned about whether Petersen can fix this offense and if Browning/KJCS are any good. Eletise would help, but between the freshman and R-Fr, the OL isn't looking too shabby.

I guess his relationship with UA's OL coach was decidedly better than with ours? Or he absolutely hates rain during the winter time? Doog comment incoming but it doesn't make sense to me at all. Academics, fan support, alumni networking...all are far and away superior at Washington.
Wouldn't shock me if this one isn't over ... If a couple of conversations switched everything one way when you were convinced of going the other way ... You probably aren't ready to make a firm commitment

Which scenario is more likely:
A: Eletise was all UW for weeks if not months but completely reversed course after a couple phone calls with Michalzik.
OR
B: UA was always leading or at least even with UW and the recruiting experts were simply guessing because if it is between UW and UA for a recruit that both teams want then UW wins 90%+ of the time.
So, while this thread has indeed produced many hearty belly laughs in the media room...
Something else I noticed is that Lars Hanson dimed out Eletise's dad for telling him that the kid was still leaning UW less than 24 hours prior to his announcement. Seemed like kind of a dick move to me, but hey, he works with Roof

Whatever.
I blame Jonathan Smith.

Proximity to Keilani Eletise would be a deciding factor for me as well.
