Troy gone

For fuck's sake, Williams didn't get a raw deal. He had all spring and fall camp to win the job and he lost to a fucking swede from Mercer Island. Then he sucked in the start he got and was lucky he didn't throw 3 more picks.

If he was any good, he would have played when Miles was stinking it up. Either that or Petersen is the idiot Kim and those other dipshits think he is. We'll find out if Williams ever does anything for another school.

Until we see what Troy can do elsewhere, I'll file it under Shit Happens We're Potentially Fucked Because Peterman May Not Be Able to Develop QB's.

The counter argument is as always

    Miles performance game after game

Williams got a raw deal. You don't know till you see a man play in a game if he has it. I'm not judging Williams on starting in a monsoon. I'd be pissed watching miles from the sidelines.

He came to UW as a four-star recruit out of Narbonne High School in Harbor City, Calif., where he was an honorable mention Parade All-American as a senior.

Something just doesn't smell right with the QB situation.

I am 81% sure Peterman went with the QB who sucked the least and would not throw interceptions.

But how the hell does the program have three highly ranked QB's and not one is decent.

It just doesn't work for me.

True. He is horrid to watch. But that isn't the point.

    This is about Troy.

Troy blew his own PERSONAL opportunities.

Cyler ' s horrid play has nothing to do with Troy ' s preparation or lack thereof.

If he prepared properly after Sark left we would not have seen the Swede in the Islands.

Miles didn't throw 2 gimme picks (should have been a few more) against ASU either.

Dont point fingers. Be accountable for your own actions.

He had two chances and blew them both.

I wasn't at practice. I mean we're talking about practice. Hard to believe anyone can suck worse than Miles. Doesn't make sense. I just have a hard time with that. I would have given Troy more game time. What's the worst that could happen - we go 8-6?

    Disagree.

Once Pete figured out that Troy couldn't beat out Cyler after 20 extra practices - why bother developing a game plan for a perceived slacker?

He had his chance and the ASU qb out performed him coming in from 90 degree Tempe.

    Weather schmeather.

It is clear Pete rewards effort. Cyler and Swede suck but work hard.

    They get PT. Simple stuff.

See Jojo and Qualls for similar transitions during the year...

Were you at practice? Not a smart ass question

    Lots of good points here.

It would've been a lot easier to assess Williams if he had started against, say, Oregon State in decent weather than one of the better teams in the Pac-12 in a monsoon.

Still and as others have pointed out, he had all of his redshirt year, spring ball, and fall ball to show he should start over Lindquist @ Hawaii. From what I read, the primary knock on Williams was that he turned the ball over too much....well with a pedestrian OL, average to slightly above average WRs, and new starters at RB, the coaching staff rightly figured a turnover machine would keep us out of a bowl.

With our D (even after losing Peters and moving true soph John Ross over to CB), it was Ground Chuck...run the ball as often and as well as you can, minimize mistakes / turnovers, and make a few timely completions in the passing game.

Unfortunately and in hindsight, Okie State had a month to go over film and had a great game plan for our O: defend the run first and dare Miles to throw into tight spaces to his WRs who are inconsistent in getting separation.

Maybe this is all of a longwinded way of saying that Lars Hanson was probably right when he wrote his Ode to Magna Carta a few days BEFORE the bowl game.

True though I wanted to also mention that Sloppy Steve left us with a WR corp lacking top end talent as well. Even DM.com knew String was a ticking time-bomb while he was being recruited, KW should've redshirted and then flapped his gums too much at coaching staff so he found himself in the doghouse when he finally did get better, and Marvin Hall / DiAndre Campbell were JAGs (though Campbell was a pretty good blocker).

A noodle armed QB throwing into tight spaces to WRs who couldn't consistently get separation =

Just gone? Was there at least a warning?

    There was in fact

When throwing, based on the photo, Magna Carta doesn't close his eyes, loop his arm or pull his left shoulder down. He obviously didn't go to the Miley School of Quarterbacking.

And surprisingly enough, it appears his back foot is on the ground, and just maybe, he is using it to push off.

    So, at least theres that.

I've never believed in the infallibility of coaches when it comes to quarterbacks. Of course Petersen knows 1000 times more than I do. But after a year of Miles, skepticism is warranted. Fuck practicing hard - play like a winner or get the fuck out.

Williams is gone its a mute point irregardless but we better have a fucking QB next year that isn't a retard or start the next coaching search

    Bolded parts.

    1. Great self awareness, Race. Try applying it.

    2. New management. Conform or GTFO. Sark would play gamers. Pete disagrees. See JoJo, Peters and Qualls for more evidence.

Sounds like you miss the Sizzlin Sark Salesman?

For those that have taken over for a slap dick manager/business/program- I 100% agree with his methods. I benched the CFO and the best field engineer for similar slackiness. Performance and bonuses suffered temporarily but we are rolling now...

TL:DR: short term detriment for long term gain.

When Sark told Miley he wanted to play "basketball on turf" Miley perfected his layup mechanics.

The problem with your theory is that there is no gain short or long term with Miley. He's a dope smoking miscreant who got his ass suspended to the detriment of the team. It has nothing to do with Sark, who recruited him.
